    摘要: A gravity drawbridge is a moveable bridge that utilizes gravity and fluid transport to transition a bridge deck between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The gravity bridge includes a fulcrum, a first fluid reservoir, a second fluid reservoir and a fluid pump. The first fluid reservoir and the second fluid reservoir are internally mounted within the bridge deck. The first fluid reservoir and the second fluid reservoir are in fluid communication to each to transport a quantity of fluid between the first fluid reservoir and the second fluid reservoir using the fluid pump. The bridge deck rotates about the fulcrum as the quantity of fluid is transported between the first fluid reservoir and the second fluid reservoir to transition the bridge deck between the open configuration and the closed configuration.

    摘要: A preassembled abutment tower and anchorage for a combination pontoon and suspension bridge consisting of one or more spans. Each assembly comprises a tower unit of a pair of A-frames connected at their tops by a cross girder. Each A-frame is secured to the deck of a catamaran hulled vessel. Main cables supported by the apices of the A-frames are anchored to opposite shores and hangars support the roadway deck between towers. Anchorage of the catamaran''s hulls are by cables connecting their prows with anchorage in the bed of the body of water. Spuds, retractable in the A-frames, may also be driven into the bed.

    摘要: This invention relates to semi-rigid inflatable spanning members which are used for bridging purposes particularly for laying down temporary bridges over gaps in open terrain, or over a watercourse. In the prior art these spanning members are constituted by a plurality of inflatable members housed within an envelope above which are arranged rigid plates: these plates are connected together end to end so as to form an arched bearing surface. In accordance with the invention, the envelope is bordered by a cable which engages laterally in channels provided at either side of the rigid plates and this cable is held in place by a suitable locking means.

    摘要: A bridge apparatus to transfer persons between a moving structure such as a vessel and a second structure such as an offshore installation, for example, to span gaps between work boats and fixed offshore installations such as wind turbines. The bridge comprises a platform supported by a line, the platform being moveable in a vertical direction by movement, of the line, wherein the line extends in a vertical direction from the platform to a capstan, and from the capstan to a counterweight. Thus the inboard end of the bridge can remain in generally the same vertical position in relation to the support structure of the vessel, moving with the vessel in the water, and the outboard end of the bridge apparatus can remain in generally the same vertical position relative to the wind turbine, and the relative vertical movement between the wind turbine and the vessel is compensated by the movement of the bridge, while the stepping on and stepping off points on the bridge remain generally still in relation to the vessel and the wind turbine.

    摘要: A bearing retainer plate for fall restraint equipment made from a single, continuous piece of sheet metal, where the metal is lasered, cut, and/or butterflied to define a plurality of apertures. A bearing, preferably possessing a self-centering characteristic, is inserted into one of the apertures, while an adapter or bracket for an over-travel stop is inserted into another. A foot lock stud is inserted into another aperture defined by the bearing retainer plate and welded into place. The piece of metal may also define apertures configured to receive fasteners for attaching the plate to the fall restraint equipment, such as to a support structure of a gangway.

    摘要: Bridge-operating machinery, for rack-driven bascule spans, comprises heavy-duty gear-drive means connected to drive the racks and swing the span. A pair of counterpart, inverted, enclosed bridge-drive units (preferably incorporating speedreducer mechanisms) coupled to motor-driven shafting actuated through a differential drive delivers power to the racks; and each such bridge-drive unit includes parallel input, intermediate, and output shafts disposed with their axes in an irregular triangular array, with rigid, sealed structure mounting the shafts of each mechanism as a unitary assembly. Each of two, heavy, opposing walls of the housing structure is provided with three bearing-carrying openings, corresponding to the said array, which confront similar openings in the opposite wall; and shaft, and the gear means carried thereby, is journaled within one set of confronting openings in protected position within the housing structure, and with a drive pinion of each output shaft disposed exteriorly of its housing structure in engagement with a rack. The housing structure has mounting means adapting the unit for mounting in a variety of different positions, and location in such different positions, of each unitary drive assembly, with its irregular triangular array of gear-carrying shafts housed therein, adapts the mechanism for use in quite different bridge installations. Lubrication, protection, proper alignment, and ease of inspection and maintenance of the moving parts is assured.
