    摘要: A tool for removing a coating from an end of a coated conduit comprising a metallic conduit having an outer diameter and a polymeric material applied over the outer diameter thereof is provided. The tool comprises: a guide member having an outer diameter sized to fit within an internal diameter of the metallic conduit; and a cylindrical cutting member having a substantially closed first end rotatably connected to an arbor, a substantially open second end, and a plurality of teeth elements. The cylindrical cutting member has an inner diameter that is substantially equal to the outer diameter of the metallic conduit such that when the cylindrical cutting member is rotated, the teeth elements remove the polymeric material from the outer diameter of the metallic conduit.

    摘要: A method of installing an insert in a body is provided, including advancing an insert into a bore of the body bounded by a lip so that a round seal of the insert passes the lip with a clearance therebetween, and so the insert first engages the body with a contact rim rather than the round seal. Accordingly, the round seal is not compromised to self-center the insert in the bore. The bore can include a shoulder distal from the lip. The round seal, which optionally can be an O-ring, can sealingly engage the shoulder and a secondary bore after the insert is self-centered in the bore. The round seal can be advanced farther into the body so another contact rim engages the shoulder. The insert can be heated so components of the body melt and fuse to parts of the insert during installation. A related system is provided.

    摘要: The present invention includes: a first part (11) which has a hollow cylindrical shape and circumscribes or is inscribed in a pipe (26); and a second part (15) which has a cylindrical shape and circumscribes or is inscribed in the first part (11), wherein inclined portions (23), which have inclination angles that can hinder the second part (15) from retreating from the first part (11), are formed between the first part (11) and the second part (15) so as to correspond to each other. That is, when a pipe sealing device is mounted to the pipe and the second part (15) is retreated from the pipe (26), the inclined portion (23) of the first part (11) and the second part (15) push against each other, the first part (11) is pressed against and fixed to the pipe, and the second part (15) can no longer retreat from a limited line due to inclination angles. Connecting or closing pipes typically involves making screws or welding, and thus requires many tools and consumes much time. In contrast, such work can be conveniently performed using the pipe sealing device of the present invention. Also, a fluid inlet and outlet portion (43) is provided, and thus a pipe sealing test can be easily performed for each section.

    摘要: A seal assembly has a connector body with a first section and a second section, movable relative to one another. The first section and the second section each has an open end configured for receiving the free end of a pipe. The open end of the first and second sections are each configured for sealing engagement with the free end of a respective pipe. The seal assembly is movable between a first condition, in which the second section assumes a retracted position relative to the first section, and a second condition in which the second section assumes an extended position relative to the first section. A seal member is provided for creating a seal between the first section and the second sections in said first and second conditions. First and second adaptors are provided, each for association with a respective one of said first and second sections of the connector body and configured for securing at the free end of a respective pipe. First and second mechanical interlock arrangements are provided, each for association with a respective one of said first and second adaptors, and each configured for driving the respective adaptor in the direction of the connector body.

    摘要: A connector for a flexible non-metallic conduit is provided. The connector may include a gland nut for receiving the conduit, and a gland ring within the gland nut. The gland ring may be sized to extend around the conduit. The connector may further include a body threadably secured to the gland nut, and a ferrule disposed within the body, wherein the ferrule includes a first keying feature coupled to a second keying feature of the body to cause rotation therebetween, and wherein the ferrule is inserted partially into the conduit. In some embodiments, the gland nut is not directly physically coupled to the conduit, so the gland nut may slide over the conduit towards/away from the body. In some embodiments, during assembly, the body and the gland nut may be rotated together to cause external threading of the ferrule to engage an inner wall of the conduit.
