The first end is spaced from the third and located between the third and fourth ends.

摘要: In a power plant, for example of PFBC type, with a cooler for cooling of ashes originating in a fluidized bed, the cooler comprises a cylinder with a transport screw which transports the ashes through the cylinder. The transport screw has a tubular shaft which is transversed by cooling water. The cylinder may be air or water-cooled. At the bottom of the cylinder one or more fluidization devices are provided, which maintain the ashes in the cylinder in fluidized condition, so as to obtain good contact and effective heat transfer to cooling surfaces of the shaft and the cylinder. The fluidization also reduces the propensity of the ash to form a heat-insulating layer on the inside of the cylinder which reduces the cooling capacity.

摘要: This invention pertains to a discharge restrictor secured to the lower end region of impingement members installed in the flue gas path of a circulating fluidized bed boiler. The discharge restrictor incorporates a pivotable baffle plate that prevents the flue gas from bypassing the impingement members yet allows the particles that are collected to gather in an adjacent storage hopper. The baffle plate is normally biased to block access to the storage hopper until a sufficient mass of particles collect on the baffle plate thereby overcoming this bias. In doing so, the plate temporarily pivots to the open position enabling the particles to advance towards the storage hopper.

摘要: An apparatus for reinjecting flown-off particles into a solid fuel fire box of a boiler or furnace of the "projector with back grid" type, in which particulate fuel is projected from a fuel source adjacent a first zone to a grid, with the fuel burned along its trajectory from the first zone to a second zone on the grid. Means are provided for separately collecting both large and small fuel particles thrown off during combustion along the trajectory to the grid, and reinjecting the collected particles with the fine particles continuously reinjected at a rate approximately proportional to the boiler load at said second zone by means of a particle conveying air stream.

摘要: A pressure-reducing valve for a dust-entraining gaseous or liquid fluent flow comprises a vertical tube containing a bed of particles which are fluidized by the flow. The particles have considerably greater specific weight than the dust in the flow, so that the particles in the bed are not carried away by the flow. The valve may be used to permit the continuous egress of a dust-contaminated flow from a pressurized container, for example a cyclone, while maintaining the pressure in the container. If the fluent flow is hot, the valve tube may be surrounded by a cooling jacket for extracting heat therefrom. The height of the bed in the tube may be adjusted to and from a particle storage, at the lower and upper ends, respectively, of the tube.

摘要: A boiler or other fluidized bed apparatus has an outlet from the bed and an outlet from the gas stream downstream of the bed for removing material from the bed and from the gas stream. The material removed is passed to screening mechanism which separates materials into relatively larger particles and relatively smaller particles. The smaller particles are fed by conveyor to means feeding the bed. The larger particles are mainly ash which is discarded. Removal of material from the bed under load is provided for.

摘要: A valve and duct means are provided to extract ash-laden air from the combustion chamber of an incinerator and direct it to fly ash separators and a finer filter in order that small particles of ash may be separated from the air before the air is exhausted to atmosphere. An alternate path is provided to remove ash remaining in the combustion chamber after an incineration cycle is completed. Ash-laden air from the combustion chamber is directed to a cyclone separator to remove larger particles of ash from the air. The air is then sent through the fly ash separators and the finer filter in order to remove any remaining smaller particles of ash. The air is then returned to the combustion chamber where particles of ash remaining therein are stirred up by the returning air. Electrical circuitry is provided so that operation of the ash removal apparatus is substantially automatic. A protective circuit prevents operation of the ashremoval apparatus if the temperature in the combustion chamber is above a predetermined level.
