摘要： An adaptable cartridge container for receiving a plurality of cartridges of one of a plurality of calibers comprises a housing having a generally rectangular floor and four surrounding sidewalls. A cartridge support shelf is sized to be received within the housing adjacent its floor and includes first projections on one side of the shelf for supporting the shelf at a first height above the floor and second projections on the opposite side of the shelf for supporting the shelf at a second height above the floor. Two ammunition trays also sized to be received within the housing, include a plurality of apertures and downwardly descending sleeves to receive cartridges therein. The container is adapted to receive a wide variety of cartridge calibers by inserting the cartridge support shelf into the housing such that it is supported at either the first or second height above the floor followed by insertion of a selected one of the ammunition trays. The selection of the height of the cartridge support shelf and the ammunition tray are made to accommodate the caliber of cartridges to be received within the container.

摘要： An ammunition container having a container tube and a lid at the front end is used for the storage and transport of grenades (10), rockets or the like. The intention is to rationalize transfer and facilitate operation (stackable, loading and unloading in the horizontal position). For this purpose, two parallel stacking surfaces (3, 4) located opposite one another are provided in the region of the two tube ends, and the lid is in the form of a hinged lid (6), the joint of which (axle 7) is located within the distance between the stacking surfaces and preferably parallel to the stacking surfaces. A pair of stacking surfaces is expediently provided on a collar, which is penetrated by the container tube (2). A double container having two adjacent tubes in common collars is advantageous. Two variants of lid closures, a transport lock, and a simple, cheap pressure equilibration valve are described.

摘要： A projectile holder uses assemblies which provide projectile locking and projectile extracting. Each assembly has a control rod with a pivotably mounted spring-biased extractor member mounted thereon for extracting a projectile. The control rod, which is spring-biased backwardly, operates a cam and a locking shoe to clampingly secure a projectile within the holder. The holder allows both front and rear loading of a projectile.

摘要： A battlefield magazine, for protecting a plurality of projectiles against harsh environmental conditions, includes a molded base for holding back portions of a plurality of projectiles. A steel frame assembled to the molded base provides structural strength and support to the molded base. A cover, attaches to the steel frame and molded base assembly and protectively encloses the front one-half of the ogives of the projectiles extending out from the front of the molded base. Reinforcing plates, positioned on the back surface of the molded base provide structural strength during vertical lifting of the battlefield magazine. The frame and reinforcing plates include lugs on one side while the corresponding opposite sides include recesses adapted to receive lugs of a like magazine to allow stacking of magazines.

摘要： The sympathetic or chain reaction detonation of stacked munitions is preved by confining any random explosion essentially to a single explosive unit or container. Frangible inhibitor plates are located between adjacent munitions, such as artillery shells, so as to isolate the adjacent explosive units from a residual shock wave or case fragment that would otherwise trigger sympathetic detonation. The inhibitor plates may be constructed as part of a container in which an artillery shell may be stored, or the plates may be separately inserted between any adjacent warhead in any conventional storage pallet or transporting configuration. The plates are designed to absorb only that amount of explosive energy required to prevent sympathetic detonation, without requiring that the explosive forces be redirected away from adjacent shells, thus reducing the problem of redirected blast.

摘要： A tubular housing for a shell comprising an annular support assembly for the shell ogive, the support assembly having a conical support face adapted to the ogive contour. 摘要： A transport and storage container for artillery shells and other projectiles has a base member and cover each of molded plastic rectangular box-like form defining four (4) projectile compartments. The base member has supporting hardware including a vertical central tube, hoop frames around the exterior of the base member and transverse connecting rods between the central tube and the hoop frames. Corner recesses in the base member provide access to the respective corner portions of the hoop frames allowing the corner portions to be used as attachment and lifting points so that containers can be coupled together in groups. The cover is attached to the base member via a central latch rod which threads into the central base member tube. A projectile self-latching mechanism is provided in each projectile compartment of the base member.

摘要： A waist mountable cartridge holder assembly comprising a cartridge case having integrally formed base, foldable hinge and cover portions. A cartridge holder track support member is provided on the base portion so as to snap clampably supportably engage a plurality of individual cartridges in transversely oriented spaced-apart longitudinally aligned fixed positions above the base portion so as to enable finger access between the base and the individual cartridges so as to facilitate direct unloading of individual cartridges therefrom. The case cover portion is selectively foldable onto the base portion so as to cover the cartridge holder track support member and cartridges supported thereon. A snap tab lock is provided to extend from the base portion to lockably engage the cover portion in its closed position. The snap tab lock is selectively snap releasable so as to permit flip opening of the cover member to provide easy finger access to cartridges fixedly retained on the cartridge holder track support member.
