摘要: A system and method are disclosed for rendering printed documents tamper evident. Examples render classes of documents tamper evident with cryptographic level security or detect tampering events, where such security was previously unavailable, for example, in documents printed using common printers without special paper or ink. Examples enable proving the date of document content without the need for expensive third party archival, including documents held, since their creation, entirely in secrecy or in untrustworthy environments, such as on easily-altered, publicly-accessible internet sites. Examples can use a document's prior registration date in a blockchain to establish a no-later than date-of-existence for that document. Examples can extend the useful life of integrity verification algorithms, such as hash functions, even when applied to binary executable files. Examples can efficiently identify whether multiple document versions are substantially similar, even if they are not identical, thus potentially reducing storage space requirements.

摘要: Using software to process images and/or digital representations of paper currency to determine if currency has a value greater than the face value of the currency to any person or persons. Software that can determine from images and/or digital representations (known or unknown) numismatic value, or value greater than the face value of the currency to any person or persons and indicia of numismatic value, or increased value, including, but not limited to: ink smearing, misaligned serial numbers, misaligned seals on currency, non-matching serial numbers, off center printing, off-center cutting, paper currency of small or limited print runs, fancy serial numbers, missing or off-center watermarks, errors in security features, holograms, ultra-violet features, magnetic features, microprinting, etc. to determine a numismatic value.

摘要: A method and system for authenticating an item includes providing the item including a polymer substrate comprising a polymer material and a doping material, the polymer material and the doping material configured to transmit radiation laterally through the polymer substrate, and the doping material capable of scattering radiation and absorbing radiation of at least one specific wavelength to generate a spectral signature in a spectral band of wavelengths of the transmitted radiation, irradiating the item with incident radiation characterized by a spectral band of wavelengths spanning a band of wavelengths including the at least one specific wavelength absorbed and scattered by the doping material, detecting the spectral signature after the radiation is transmitted laterally through the polymer substrate, and determining a code associated with the spectral signature.

摘要: Systems and methods for ATM fraud detection are presented. ATM fraud detection may be provided in the context of a currency dispenser configured to dispense currency notes and a force sensor configured to detect a force applied to the currency dispenser, and a processor configured for data communication with the currency dispenser and the force sensor. The processor may issue an alert if the force sensor detects the applied force for longer than a predetermined time period.

摘要: Systems for item validation and image evaluation are provided. In some examples, a system may receive an instrument and associated data. The instrument may be received and a user profile may be retrieved. The user profile may include a plurality of previously processed instruments that have been determined to be valid and/or authentic. The instrument may be compared to the plurality of previously processed instruments to determine whether one or more elements of the instrument being evaluated match one or more corresponding elements of the plurality of previously processed instruments. Matching or non-matching elements may be identified. In some examples, one or more user interfaces may be generated displaying the instruments and including any highlighting or enhancements identifying matching or non-matching elements.

摘要: Systems and methods for ATM fraud detection are presented. ATM fraud detection may be provided in the context of including a currency sensor in the ATM to count currency notes. ATM fraud detection may be obtained by using a currency sensor, such as a scanner, to image and count any currency notes that remain after being dispensed to a user, and determining if the count is correct for the currency notes dispensed. A count discrepancy resulting from removal of some but not all dispensed currency notes would indicate attempted theft or fraud.

摘要: New authentication features are proposed that are visible, can be authenticated with a mobile equipment and yet are challenging to counterfeit. In a possible embodiment, the surface of the authentication feature may have three-dimensional characteristics, which can be recognized by a handheld camera, such as a smartphone camera, while it cannot be easily reproduced by a simple scan and print procedure. In a further possible embodiment, at least two different viewpoints of the authentication feature may be acquired using a smartphone camera and the resulting images may be analyzed using the smartphone processor to identify the three-dimensional characteristics of the authentication feature. The manufacturing of the feature may be performed at a low cost by embossing the three dimensional structure on a surface. The authentication feature may be carried by a self-adhesive label or directly embedded on the product packaging.

摘要: A method for verifying a security document by means of a reading device wherein first transmission and/or reflection properties of a first region of the security document are detected in a first spectral range by the reading device and a first data set specifying these properties is generated therefrom, wherein the first region at least in some regions overlaps an optical security element arranged on the security document or embedded in the security document and wherein second transmission and/or reflection properties of the first region of the security document are detected in a second spectral range by the reading device and a second data set specifying these properties is generated therefrom, wherein the first spectral range differs from the second spectral range, and wherein, the authenticity of the security document and/or of the security element is checked on the basis of at least the first data set and the second data set.
