摘要： A magnetic disk for high-density recording is provided, wherein a substantially non-magnetic lower layer is formed on a support and a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder is formed on the lower layer. The magnetic layer has a thickness of 0.02 to 0.5 &mgr;m, and on the surface thereof at least 1×104 projections standing at least 20 nm high and at most 1×103 projections standing at least 70 nm high per mm2 measured by an atomic force microscope.
