摘要： A load break high voltage disconnect switch and operating mechanism therefor comprising an over center toggle and spring effecting a snap action toward the open or closed position of the switch. The over center toggle is latched in either direction by a separate toggle for each direction. The separate toggle is extended and blocks movement of the over center toggle in a breaking direction until the spring operating handle has moved the spring over center and extended the spring fully; the spring operating handle at that point operates the latching toggle to release the over center toggle and permit a rapid snap action to occur.

摘要： High voltage disconnect switchgear having a double break contact operation. The main movable contacts are slidably mounted radially within a rotating insulating carrier. The opening operation first withdraws the main movable contacts into the carrier and then rotates the carrier thereby providing both the double break and the insulating interposition of the carrier between the main movable contacts and the stationary contacts. The main contacts are protected by arcing contacts which make first on closing and break last on opening. The arcing contacts are carried by the rotatable carrier and operate in an arcuately shaped arc chute adjacent the carrier.

摘要： An isolator switch for high voltage transmission lines and switch yards. A switchblade is rotatably mounted to a bearing which bearing is rotatable around a central axis. The switchblade can be swung in a plane normal to the central axis independently around the bearing, and also around the central axis by rotation of the bearing around the central axis. A contact member is spaced from the central axis, and exposes a contact surface to the switchblade. A circuit is completed by the combined motions of turning the switchblade around the bearing and turning the bearing around the central axis, so as to move the switchblade against the contact surface in an abutting relationship which may be either compressive or sliding, there being a substantial longitudinal movement of the tip of the switchblade along the line joining the contact surface and the central axis, this being a toggle-type motion. Preferably the contact surface is inside a cavity whose walls will restrain the tip of the blade from lateral disengagement after the contact is made. The contact member and also the switchblade may be mounted to a column which permits deflection in response to force exerted between them, and which also renders the conductive portion of the switch nonresponsive to earthquake motion. According to a preferred embodiment, the device is provided with a pair of such switchblades whose angular positions relative to the central axis are angularly coordinated.

摘要： High voltage pad-mounted switch gear is provided for three phase loop feeder circuits and fused load circuits. The loop circuits are interconnected by series-connected loop feeder switches. Isolator switches of the telescoping bayonet type are connected between the loop circuit and the fuses. One end of the isolator switch and one end of the fuse are supported by a molded insulator strut. The molded insulator strut has a first hollow turret projection for guiding and supporting one end of the fuse and a second hollow turret projection for supporting the isolator switch. The turret projections enclose the connection between the fuse and the isolator switch thereby providing greater isolation and insulation between the phases of the loop circuits. A tool is provided for removing and inserting the fuse. An interlocking blocking arrangement prevents access to the fuse by the tool until the isolator switch has opened the circuit to the fuse thereby preventing injury to the serviceman and damage to the equipment.
