摘要： The present invention provides a current limiting circuit breaker having a current responsive device for opening a pair of contacts or switch upon short circuit conditions. The current responsive device utilizes an insulating object driven by a magnetic force caused by a short circuit current. Upon opening of the contacts with the use of the insulating object, let-through current flows through a secondary contact, positioned on the insulating object, to a positive temperature coefficient resistivity element which limits the current and arcing in the contacts. The PTC elements could be pure metallic materials such as pure tungsten, pure iron, etc. Conductive polymer and ceramic PTC materials could also be used for some specific applications. The present invention also provides a method of electrically connecting a drive plate and a line terminal on the current limiting circuit breaker.

摘要： A vacuum switch having a fixed stationary and moveable contact that functions very much like a conventional vacuum circuit interrupter. In addition, an annular stationary contact is positioned on the opposite side of the moveable contact from the first mentioned stationary contact with the drive rod of the moveable contact slidable within the annular opening of the additional stationary contact. The moveable contact travels between three positions. The first position is in electrical communication with the first mentioned stationary contact, the second position is an intermediate position that opens the circuit, and the third position places the moveable contact in electrical communication with the annular stationary contact. Preferably, one of the stationary contacts is grounded and the moveable contact is connected to the load, so that the switch either connects the power line to the load, opens the circuit in the intermediate position, or grounds the load to facilitate maintenance.

摘要： A modular three position vacuum isolator switch that is operable to connect a stationary contact to either of two moveable contacts or an intermediate position which is out of electrical engagement with either of the moveable contacts. One of the moveable contacts is grounded and the other is connected a power source. The stationary contact is connected to two electrical connectors. One of the two electrical connectors is connected to a breaker and the second is connected to a corresponding input on a second similar isolator switch model, which itself is connected to a second line source. The stationary contact is connected to the circuit interrupter for connecting the circuit interrupter to either of the two line sources, to ground, or to isolate the circuit interrupter by placing the isolator switch module in the intermediate position.
