摘要: A digger-shaker-inverter for harvesting rooted plants includes a plurality of row units, with each row unit comprising first and second carrying belts spaced to grip opposite sides of vines on the rooted plants. A first pulley drives the first carrying belt and a second pulley driving the second carrying belt. A first hydraulic motor is mounted to selectively cause rotation of the first pulley, and a second hydraulic motor is mounted to selectively cause rotation of the second pulley. A supply line connected to a tractor's hydraulic system provides hydraulic fluid to the first and second hydraulic motors, which are connected in daisy-chain fashion with an outlet of one connected to an inlet of the second, and the outlet of the second of the hydraulic motors connected to an inlet for a hydraulic motor of another row unit.

摘要: A towed type beet harvester includes a main frame having ground engaging wheels and having a lifter wheel assembly for excavating beets, potatoes, carrots and similar root crops. A front set of grab rollers are positioned rearwardly of the lifter wheel assembly and are coated with a high impact plastic material to minimize damage to the harvested crop. A rear set of grab rollers are positioned rearwardly of the front set of rollers and are also coated with a high impact plastic material. A vertically disposed discharge wheel assembly is positioned interiorly of the harvester main frame and conveys harvested crop to a reversible discharge conveyor. An open top holding tank is mounted at the rear of the harvester for temporarily holding the harvested crop during the harvesting operation.

摘要: An agricultural harvesting assembly designed to remove vines and like undesirable growth from cultivated trees, plants and the like, comprising a frame movably and adjustably attachable to a tractor or like towing vehicle. A gripping head is movable and adjustably attached to the frame by an orienting means movably interconnected between the gripping head and the frame in such a manner as to absorb shock when the gripping head engages a tree from which vines are to be removed. Head disposition means and additional adjustment means are mounted on said frame and movably interconnected relative to the gripping head so as to position the gripping head between an operative and non-operative position and also in predetermined path of travel relative to a tree or obstacle intended to be encountered.

摘要: A mobile device for harvesting tree seedlings includes means for subsurface cutting to separate and loosen from the surrounding ground the body of earth adjoining the roots of the tree seedlings. The movement and relative position of the earth separating means enables it to efficiently sever the roots of the tree seedlings from the surrounding ground while allowing only a minimum amount of earth to adhere to the roots of the seedlings as they are removed. A plurality of paired gripper belts remove the loosened seedlings by lifting them upwardly and rearwardly relative to the ground, each pair of gripper belts having male-female intercoupled gripping surfaces which minimize damage to the stems of the seedlings. Disposed below the gripper belts are a plurality of elongated root beater means adapted to move in a transverse oscillatory manner to agitate the roots and remove the earth adhering thereto without damaging the seedlings. A drive linkage mechanism controls the movement of the root beater means and balances the forces resulting therefrom to substantially reduce vibration in the harvester. Finally, an improved sheave structure for the gripper belt drive mechanism enables worn-out bearings to be readily replaced without replacing the entire sheave structure.

摘要: A harvester for root crops having a series of spaced apart pairs of digging wheels of known construction operable to lift the roots from several rows of growing crops and metal lifters to move the roots rearwardly from the wheels, has a plurality of transverse supporting rollers receiving the roots and provided with spiral ribs extending from the sides of the machine toward the center to concentrate the roots midway between the sides of the machine. A lower chain type conveyor receives the concentrated flow of roots. A flail over the rollers urges the roots on to the chain type conveyor. A large cylindrical elevator-sorter cage surrounds the rear portion of the conveyor. It sorts the flow of roots and soil, retaining the larger roots therein and dropping them on to an upper chain conveyor that extends forwardly above the lower conveyor from the rear wall of the cage out of the cage. An elevating and loading conveyor beneath the front end of the upper conveyor and in front of the cage, moves the roots laterally and upwardly. The machine has a tongue at the front end adjustably supporting the front end thereof on a tractor for movement up and down and laterally with respect to the tractor. Rear wheels support the cage and are movable laterally with respect to the machine for lateral alignment of the rear end of the machine.

摘要: A piler conveyor system for screening debris such as tare dirt from materials such as beets as the materials are conveyed across a piler. The piler conveyor system generally includes a frame supporting an upper conveyor and a pair of lower conveyors. The upper conveyor is adapted to receive materials such as beets. As the materials are conveyed by the upper conveyor, debris such as tare dirt or the like will fall through screening openings in the upper conveyor and onto the lower conveyor. The lower conveyor may then dispense the debris through a debris opening. The materials will drop off the end of the upper conveyor and fall onto the second lower conveyor, which will convey the screened materials to be dispensed.
