摘要： A cutter wheel includes a drive plate having a first side and a second side opposite the first side. A wear plate is coupled to the first side of the drive plate for rotation with the drive plate. First and second cutters are coupled to the wear plate such that the wear plate is at least partially between the first side of the drive plate and the first and second cutters. Each cutter includes a cutter tip and a fastener-mounting aperture. A first fastener extends through the fastener-mounting aperture of the first cutter, through a first fastener-receiving aperture in the wear plate, and into a first aperture in the drive plate. A second fastener extends through the fastener-mounting aperture of the second cutter, through a respective fastener-receiving aperture in the wear plate, and into a respective aperture in the drive plate.

摘要： A cutter head for a woodworking machine, having a cylindrical, conical, or profiled base body which comprises at least two tool holders for holding a cutting insert. The tool holders each comprise a groove which is open in the radial direction, in which a cutting insert is clamped between a first groove wall of the groove and a one- or two-piece clamping element. The cutter head of can include a support plate arranged between the cutting insert and the first groove wall. The clamping screws are arranged at right angles to the axis and are thus accessible for a cutter change. The screw holder on the clamping element is a ball socket, and the front end of the screw is a round head. The cutter head of has a spring element, which positions the cutting insert during the clamping process, and presses the same via the functional surface radially outward against a stop.

In addition, the cutter is suitable for use in a cutter head having a carrier body, in which at least one radially outwardly open recess is provided for receiving a cutter and a clamping jaw which can be actuated by a clamping screw, and by means of which the cutter can be clamped in a fixed position in the recess. The recess has a stop with a stop surface that is directed radially inwards, and the cutter can be introduced into the recess against the force of at least one elastic element. The cutter can be applied, in a radially outward direction, by its stop surface to the stop surface that is directed radially inwards, by an elastic element.

摘要： A mechanized disc flaker for producing curled wood flakes having a rotatable disc plate, and one or more cutting knives mounted to the disc plate so as to provide for a slight "rake angle" defined in accordance with the invention as the angle made between the tool face and a plane perpendicular to the direction of tool travel. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus includes rotatable and removable knife holders which permit the rake angle and the "cutting angle", defined in accordance with the invention as being the angle the cutting edge of the knife makes with the grain of the wood, to be modified to yield curled wood shavings having different geometries and characteristics. The preferred method of practicing the apparatus involves using a work piece having a certain moisture content which is directed against the work surface of the disc flaker using appropriate pressure all to provide for wood curls of desirable characteristics.

摘要： A chopper has a straight knife clamped between a clamping member and a counter knife. The knife, clamping member, and counter knife are collectively positioned in a machined area formed in a holder that is in turn fitted within a larger recess formed in a chopping disk. A first fastener secures the knife holder to the chopping disk, a second fastener secures the clamping member to the knife holder, and a third fastener secures the counter knife to the knife holder. A projection formed in the counter knife engages a groove formed in the knife to properly align the knife and to inhibit entry of fibers into the space between the counter knife and the knife. The holder further includes a series of steps that position the counter knife and the clamping member, respectively, with respect to the holder.
