摘要： The invention relates to an improved method and apparatus for the treatment of animal skin substrates which employs a multiplicity of solid particles. There is disclosed an apparatus for treating one or more animal skin substrates with a multiplicity of solid particles and treatment liquor comprising: a rotatably mounted drum comprising an internal volume having a first portion defining a treatment volume for retaining said animal substrates and a second portion defining a collecting volume; one or more inlets for introducing solid particles and treatment liquor into said treatment volume; a partition separating said treatment volume from said collecting volume wherein said partition allows free passage of solid particles from the treatment volume to the collecting volume and prevents the passage of the substrates therethrough; a circulation path for conveying said solid particles from the collecting volume to the treatment volume; and a pumping device arranged to pump solid particles and said treatment liquor along a portion of said circulation path.

摘要： An apparatus and method for manufacturing leather coin pouches. The method provides for wetting a leather assembly comprising a substantially flat, flexible leather cover laminated to a substantially flat, more rigid centerpiece, to soften the leather which facilitates the eventual forming of the leather. The method further comprises creasing the leather in a creasing die. After a preforming step designed to foldedly bias the leather assembly toward forming as desired, the leather assembly is formed into a foldedly raised leather assembly with an overlapping flap spiral closure. Finally, while its formed shape is retained, the leather assembly is dried.The apparatus comprises a wetter for wetting the leather assembly, a creasing die for creasing the leather assembly into a creased leather assembly, a frusto-conical male/female preforming die for preforming the creased leather assembly, a forming die for forming the creased leather assembly into a foldedly raised formed leather assembly with a spiral closure, and an oven for drying the formed leather assembly.

摘要： Between a chrome tanning step and a fat liquor treatment step, a flesh side split leather is subjected to shaving on both its split and flesh sides to a thickness of 1.1 to 2.5 mm, preferably 1.2 to 1.5 mm and is then aftertanned. After a split side dressing of the dried butt, a further shaving operation is effected on the flesh side to a thickness of 0.5 to 1.0 mm, preferably 0.7 to 0.9 mm, whereupon the flesh side is also dressed. The result is a split leather which is particularly effective for use on automotive vehicle dashboards and has low shrinkage even when subjected to high temperature and moisture fluctuations.

摘要： Two de-fleshing stations are interconnected by a transfer bridge. The first de-fleshing station feeds through its outlet chute, the rear end of the transfer bridge, while the second de-fleshing station feeds through its outlet chute, the rear end of the carry-away conveyor. The transfer bridge is provided with a pair of aligned endless conveyors which are selectively operable so that the hides can be selectively delivered from the first station to the second station, the carry-out conveyor or to an operator for manual handling.

摘要： An air blast dust removal machine has a jet of air projected from at least one slot-like nozzle inclined at an obtuse angle towards an oncoming sheet material which is held to a moving permeable conveyor belt. The sheet material is held to the conveyor belt by at least one suction device desposed on the opposite side of the conveyor belt as the sheet material passes adjacent the jet of air. A second conveyor belt holds the sheet material from its top side by a suction device; and an obtusely projected jet of air blasts dust from the bottom side of the sheet material.

摘要： A drum apparatus for maintaining a liquid bath in which sheet material of a porous and absorbent nature is processed includes a processing chamber adjacent an open end and a drainage chamber adjacent its other end which is closed. The drum is mounted for rotational movement about its longitudinal axis and for pivotal movement in a vertical plane. The drum is pivoted to a loading position and the sheet material is fed through the open end into the processing chamber. Fins in the processing chamber are adapted to work the sheet material in a liquid bath supplied to the drum during rotation of the drum in either direction. After the sheet material is processed the drum is pivoted to a discharge position for removal of the sheet material out through the open end.

摘要： The invention provides systems for opening and closing access apertures in the outer walls of tannery paddle tumblers and the like. The system consists of a door which is slid in guides, the movement of the door being controlled by a fluid motor and fluid control. The movement of the door is effected by the fluid motor which moves a rack attached to the door. Means for providing a seal between the door and the access aperture are also described.
