    摘要: A shutoff vent is disclosed. A main body has a first end and a second end. The main body defines a first opening towards the first end, a second opening towards the second end, and a mating port between the first opening and the second opening. The first opening and the second opening are in communication through the mating port to define a gas passageway. A translatable plug is disposed within the main body, and the gas passageway extends past the translatable plug. The translatable plug is configured to reversibly translate towards the second end to sealably obstruct the mating port. In some examples, the translatable plug is configured to translate towards the second end when force is applied to the translatable plug from the first end.

The valve assembly contains a valve seat and a normally open piston valve for sealing with the seat and includes opposing piston rods each slidably supported at one end portion by end caps. The piston valve is normally fluid pressure balanced by equal upstream and downstream rod end surface areas. A plate is secured to the body by posts in axial spaced relation with respect to the downstream end portion of one piston rod for supporting a pressure collapsible rod-like pin in accordance with Euler's law for slender columns, axially interposed between the plate and the adjacent piston valve rod.

The plunger (13) has parts (14, 15) in engagement with the wall of the cavity and two influencing surfaces (23, 24) of different sizes. The smaller influencing surface (23) communicates with a main pipe (25) from a gas source to a user. The larger influencing surface (24) communicates with a control pipe (28) from the main pipe (25) spaced from the device. The plunger (13) influences the gas flow in the main pipe (25) with its movement and/or indicates a pressure drop in the control pipe (28).

    摘要: A gas leak sensor shutoff valve includes a cylindrical body having a connector nipple secured in an inlet port and adapted to be secured to a gas supply pipe. An internal bore extends within the body and joins the inlet port in coaxial fashion. The internal end surface of the connector nipple includes a pair of diametrically opposed slots. A valve assembly is translatably disposed within a stepped valve chamber in the bore. The valve assembly includes a cylindrical sidewall closed at one end, and a pair of opposed holes extending through the sidewall. A gasket is secured to the closed end of the valve assembly, the periphery of the gasket extending outwardly from the valve assembly to impinge on an annular shoulder within the bore. A flow path extends from the connector nipple, through the slots in the internal end of the connector nipple, past the gap between the sealing gasket and the annular shoulder, and through the holes in the cylindrical sidewall to the distal end of the internal bore. An outlet passage extends diametrically in the valve body to join the distal end of the internal bore. An access port may be provided in the valve body in diametrical opposition to the outlet passage. A reset mechanism includes a spindle translatably disposed in the distal end of the internal bore and a pin extending from the spindle to impinge on the valve assembly and urge the gasket away from the annular shoulder. The valve is configured to replace the T connector of a standard gas line setup, function ally as well as spatially. A breakaway nipple may be secured between the outlet connector of the valve and the customer delivery pipe to be the first point to break in the event of earthquake or the like.

    摘要: A flow regulator/restrictor placed in a fluid path to passively compensate for variations in fluid pressure by deflection or movement. In one embodiment a silicon micromachined housing has a damper beam cantilevered to the interior wall between inlet and outlet. Deflections of the beam vary the volume of the restrictive gap formed between the damper beam and the interanl wall of the housing adjacent the outlet. In another embodiment the damper element is a floating element in the housing and has conformal side walls with the interior of the housing. The restrictor elements may be stacked to provide a stepped pressure drop, restrictor system.

    摘要: The present invention provides a valve assembly for allowing fluid flow in a first direction and for preventing fluid flow in a second, opposite direction including a valve housing having first and second ports opening into the housing. A flow regulator is positioned within the housing and includes an outer wall which is formed as a substantially cylindrical member. The regulator includes a pair of semi-circular valve lips which are oriented in converging relationship to each other to form an outlet slit at one end of the regulator. The valve lips are connected to the outer wall by a pair of concave connecting walls wherein the lips and connecting walls form a pair of cavities on either side of the outlet slit. A pair of elongated projections are located along diametrically opposing sides of the outer wall for biasing the outer wall inwardly whereby a biasing force is applied to close the lips.
