摘要： The present invention provides an ignition actuation mechanism for the manual actuator of a spark producing device in a fuel gas lighter to increase the actuation force immediately before spark discharge without unreasonably increasing the actuation force at the initial stages of movement of the manual actuator to reduce that chances of inadvertent ignition by small children, but maintaining good operability for adult users. Movement of the manual actuator is always resisted by a first elastic member while a second elastic member is positioned to resist movement of the manual actuator at a maximum of 30N to 50N after 60% or more of the total movement of the manual actuator required to produce a spark has occurred. Preferably the second elastic member is one or more flexible fingers molded from polyacetal resin.

摘要： A device to render articles such as disposable lighters resistant to unauthorized use including a body which slidably receives the lighter. In the normal protected position, the lighter is within the housing and is restricted from extension from the body to a use-position by a locking pin carried on a rocker arm. The rocker arm controls the position of the locking pin and may not be released unless the lighter is inverted releasing a tumbler freeing the rocker arm and thus permitting depression of the rocker arm to disengage the locking pin from the lighter. In the disengaged position, the user may slide the lighter relative to the sleeve to a use-position in which the lighter may be actuated. The safety device may be applied to other articles to make them child-resistant such as medicine containers.

摘要： A gas lighter has a pistol-shaped casing that contains a gas cartridge in line with a mouthpiece which simulates a muzzle and forms a hood overhanging a striker wheel coacting with a spring-pressed flint. The striker wheel is clamped between cheeks of a reel which is eccentrically linked with a slider having an actuator in the shape of a trigger and trigger guard, the latter being articulated to a toggle joint urged by a transverse spring into a nearly straight-line position whereby a squeezing of the trigger results in an accelerating rotation of the wheel against the flint. The slider also opens a shut-off valve at the cartridge to allow the outflow of gas which is ignited by sparks from the flint hurled toward the hood.

摘要： The cigarette lighter cover is a novelty sleeve for the cigarette lighter which has a tubular body portion with a hollow interior space sized to receive the body of the cigarette lighter of conventional design. One end of the body portion is closed off to form a bottom end of the sleeve. The other end of the body portion is open to receive the cigarette lighter. An image presenting assembly is situated on one side of the sleeve and includes a filmstrip. Opaque portions of this filmstrip have a desired color to provide a portion of an image and a translucent portion has the remaining portion of the image which is caused to appear and disappear. A dark background is situated behind the translucent portion of the filmstrip and a light colored shield is positioned behind the filmstrip and between the filmstrip and the dark background. The shield has a handle for moving the shield to and from a position behind the portion of the image defined by the translucent portion of the filmstrip thereby to cause it to appear when the shield is moved therebehind.

摘要： A table lighter device is disclosed which comprises a base member having pocket lighter supporting means for supporting and retaining a generally elongated pocket lighter in a releasably secure upstanding fashion. Such table lighter device embodies a weighted member positionable about the lighter supporting means adjacent the bottom thereof. A housing is positioned in upstanding relation with respect to the base member and has at the lower end portion thereof, means for facilitating securement thereof to the base member. The housing defines an upper end portion having an opening generally dimensioned and configured to receive the pocket lighter and generally vertically aligned with the pocket lighter supporting means and is dimensioned and configured to removably receive and snugly support the pocket lighter while operative elements of the pocket lighter are exposed at the upper end portion of the housing to form an operative table lighter.
