    摘要: An exhaust system for a combustion engine vehicle includes an exhaust pipe extending between an exhaust inlet disposed opposite an exhaust outlet. The exhaust inlet and exhaust outlet are in fluidic communication with one another. The exhaust inlet is configured to receive an exhaust gas produced by an internal combustion engine of the combustion engine vehicle. A second pipe has an air inlet extending from and connected to the exhaust pipe. The second pipe is configured to be in fluidic communication with the exhaust outlet. The air inlet is configured to receive an outside flow of air. The exhaust gas from the combustion engine vehicle and the outside flow of air captured by the air inlet when the combustion engine vehicle is moving forward are configured to be combined and to cooperatively exit out the exhaust outlet.

    摘要: A solid fuel ramjet tubular projectile has a generally tubular body fabried of dense material or suitable hardened material having a bore formed therethrough and having first and second ends. A plurality of partitions divide the bore into a plurality of separate combustion chambers. Each of the combustion chambers extends longitudinally substantially the length of the body. Solid fuel is formed upon the body within each of the combustion cheers. An inlet is formed at the first end of the body, into which air is received. The inlet is configured so as to substantially decelerate air entering the inlet at supersonic velocity to subsonic velocity prior to the air entering the combustion cheers. An outlet, through which combustion gases flow, is formed at the second end of the body. A mixing section is preferably formed intermediate the combustion chamber and the outlet so as to facilitate substantial mixing of the combustion gases from each combustion chamber prior to the combustion gases entering the outlet. A turbulence generator is optionally disposed proximate the first end of the body to enhance mixing of air and fuel. The turbulence generator is preferably configured as a plurality of radially extending spokes.

    摘要: A spinning tubular projectile (STUP) is subcalibre to reduce both retard and the gyroscopic stability. The total effect is to reduce crosswind sensitivity and to obtain a better ballistic match with an armour piercing fin stabilized, discarding sabot (APFSDS) round. To reduce the range to that desired for a limited range practice round, the STUP is equipped with spin-damping fins on its surface near the projectile center of gravity.

The tubular body is connected to the sabot by radially extending pins, and the rear face of the body is spaced from a circular shoulder of the sabot by a distance equal to, or larger than, the diameter of the pins. To ensure a transfer of the spin of the sabot to the body, the rear face of the body is provided with a corrugation, such as teeth, or a knurling, which, at the discharge and after the pins are sheared off, digs into the surface of the circular shoulder.

The cover is temporarily held on the projectile so as to retain original shape thereof until firing. The front zone of the bore is followed by a zone effective as a jet and having smaller, preferably variable cross-sectional dimensions. The zone of smaller cross-sectional dimensions can pass over into a zone of relatively larger cross-sectional dimensions toward the rear of the projectiles. Spin-braking devices can be provided at the front end of the projectile for limiting the flight range of the projectile to a desired value.
