    摘要: The invention relates to personal display devices and in particular an eyepiece therefor. The eyepiece is adapted for projecting an image from an image plane on one side of the eyepiece through an exit pupil on the opposite side of the eyepiece and comprises at least one stationary lens group and at least two movable lens groups being movable with respect to the stationary lens group along an optical axis between the image plane and the exit pupil. According to the invention, the lens groups are arranged in positive-negative-positive configuration and the movable lens groups are arranged to move along the optical axis between a first state providing a first field-of-view and a second state providing a second field-of-view smaller than the first field-of-view to the image plane. The invention allows for improving optical performance and user experience of personal display devices.

    摘要: An optical device insertable through a peephole in the thick wall of a chamber such as a bank vault, making it possible for an observer to obtain a panoramic view of objects dispersed within the interior thereof. The device is constituted by an optical system composed of three lens assemblies disposed serially along a common optical axis. The first assembly has wide angle characteristics to develop in front of this assembly a virtual image of the objects in the interior. The second assembly has an elongation nearly equal to the thickness of the wall, the second assembly having convergent characteristics to derive from the virtual image a final image which is formed adjacent the exit of this assembly. The third assembly has accommodation characteristics to permit an observer's eye located behind it to see the final image with an apparent diameter essentially equal to that at which the initial image can be seen at the entry of the second assembly. As a consequence, an observation of objects through the optical system is essentially equivalent in image quality to that obtainable had the observation of the initial image been made directly with the first and third assemblies.

A peep preventing device consisting of two polarizers one of which is made rotatable with respect to the other is attachable to the door scope. The compensation lens is preferably made of glass material different from that of the other lenses to correct chromatic aberration.

    摘要: Ultrawide field eyepiece for a microscope having field lens elements and eyelens elements spaced a distance behind the field lens element with an airgap therebetween. The field lens elements comprise doublet lens elements having cemented achromatic surfaces and positive refractive power as a whole. The eye lens elements comprise thick meniscus lens elements having cemented surfaces of negative refractive power and lens element(s) of positive refractive power spaced a short distance from the thick meniscus lens elements behind the same. The foremost concave surface of the meniscus lens elements is directed toward the objective lens to be used together. The radius of curvature of the front convex surface of the rear convex lens element forming a part of the meniscus lens elements, the difference in the refractive index between the front and rear lens elements of the meniscus lens elements, the difference in the Abbe''s number between the front and rear lens elements of the field lens elements, and the distance between the field lens elements and the eyelens elements satisfy certain predetermined conditions, respectively, so that ultrawide field is obtained while the eyepoint distance is made appropriately great and the missing of light in the marginal annular region of the field of view is prevented.
