Abstract: A data deduplication process is performed in a storage system which includes storage nodes, and storage control nodes which can access data directly from each storage node. A first storage control node sends a message to a second storage control node to initiate a deduplication process with respect to a given data block and an original data block owned by the second storage control node. The second storage control node increments a reference counter associated with the original data block, and sends a message to the first storage control which includes metadata. The first storage control node uses the metadata to read the original data block from a given storage node, performs a data compare process to determine whether the given data block matches the original data block, and creates a reference to the original data block, if the given data block matches the original data block.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to estimate audience sizes using deduplication based on binomial sketch data are disclosed. An apparatus includes processor circuitry to instantiate coefficient analyzer circuitry to determine coefficient values of a polynomial based on (i) variances in values in the first sketch data and second sketch data, (ii) a first cardinality of the first sketch data, and (iii) a second cardinality of the second sketch data. The processor circuitry to instantiate overlap analyzer circuitry to determine a real root of the polynomial, the real root corresponding to the quantity of the second subscribers that are duplicates of the first subscribers. The processor circuitry to instantiate report generator circuitry to estimate a deduplicated audience size based on the estimate of the quantity of the second subscribers that are duplicates of the first subscribers and the first and second cardinalities.

Abstract: Errors in big datasets can be automatically detected and output in an interactive graphical user interface (GUI) according to some examples described herein. In one such example, a system includes processing nodes for receiving processing tasks associated with analyzing a dataset (e.g., a big dataset). In response to receiving the processing tasks, the processing nodes can each execute a data-processing module to analyze entries in the dataset based on a predefined set of rules to determine if the entries include one or more types of errors. The data-processing module can then generate processing results indicating whether the entries include at least one type of error. The system can further include a GUI module that is executable to generate a GUI based on the processing results, where the GUI can provide insights about the types of errors present in the dataset for use in resolving said errors.

Abstract: Some embodiments perform fully unsupervised string error detection and repair, for strings containing both syntactic errors and semantic errors. In some embodiments, string error mitigation includes learning a regular-expression-based pattern that characterizes at least a predefined fraction of a set of string data values, identifying and masking a semantic substring, deriving edits to repair a string which contains the semantic substring, and replacing a mask value with a replacement substring that conforms to the pattern. Some embodiments utilize a language model. Some embodiments include or utilize a pattern learner, one or more learned significant patterns, and a repair engine. Some embodiments exploit program execution information to generate patterns when significant patterns are not initially found.

Abstract: A system for simulant calibration may include a controller. The controller may collect geolocated data for an entire area; extract one or more VOIs for each AP; extract the VOIs within each AROI to form an AROI VOI distribution; apply one or more simulant calibration models to the AROI VOI distribution to determine simulant calibration VOI values; compute error between the mean VOI value for each AP and the simulation calibration VOI values for the AROI associated with each AP; correct the simulant calibration VOI values for ROI without APs; compute one or more calibration ratios for pairs in proximal plot groups; deliver the one or more calibration ratios to a recommendation algorithm; add the AP mean VOI values and the AROI VOI distribution for the intersecting ROI to a simulant calibration model; and train and validate the simulant calibration model.
