Abstract: A money handling apparatus for performing at least depositing includes: a casing; a depositing unit; a recognition unit configured to at least count or recognize money fed from the depositing unit; an inner storage unit from which the money stored therein is unremovable directly from the outside of the casing; an outer stacking unit from which the money stacked therein is removable directly from the outside of the casing; a transport unit configured to transport the money among the above-described units; and a controller configured to allow selective transport of the money handled by the recognition unit to the inner storage unit, or the outer stacking unit. The controller transfers the money to the inner storage unit when a first deposit mode is selected by a selection signal, or transfers the money to the outer stacking unit when a second deposit mode is selected.

Abstract: A computing platform may receive, from one or more cash handling devices, aggregated activity information comprising a plurality of transaction records. Subsequently, the computing platform may identify one or more deposit transactions based on the aggregated activity information comprising the plurality of transaction records. Based on identifying the one or more deposit transactions, the computing platform may generate one or more account credit commands, which may direct at least one account management computer system to apply one or more provisional credits to one or more treasury accounts associated with the one or more deposit transactions. Subsequently, the computing platform may send, to the at least one account management computer system, the one or more account credit commands directing the at least one account management computer system to apply the one or more provisional credits to the one or more treasury accounts associated with the one or more deposit transactions.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a two-portion cash-dispensing machine has a first secure portion that receives paper currency during bill-breaking operations and vouchers during voucher-redemption operations and a second secure portion that dispenses paper currency. Physical access to the first secure portion is restricted to authorized first agents, and physical access to the second secure portion is restricted to authorized second agents. Physical access to the first secure portion by an authorized first agent does not inherently provide physical access to the second secure portion by the authorized first agent, and vice versa. In one application, two different business entities are respectively responsible for maintaining the two different secure portions, and the machine communicates information associated with requests for transfers of funds from a bank account of the first entity to a bank account of the second entity to reimburse the second entity for bill-breaking and voucher-redemption operations.

Abstract: In order to handle a central bank digital currency, a cash handling apparatus includes: a cash depositing port for depositing cash; a cash recognition circuit that recognizes a kind and authenticity of the cash; a cash storage that stores the cash; a digital cash depositing unit for depositing digital cash being a central bank digital currency for which one piece of data is issued per predetermined unit amount; and a digital cash storage that stores the digital cash. The cash handling apparatus accepts depositing of at least one of cash and digital cash. In a cash depositing process, cash deposited from the cash depositing port is recognized by the cash recognition circuit and stored in the cash storage. In a digital cash depositing process, data of digital cash inputted from the digital cash depositing port is stored in the digital cash storage.

Abstract: Currency processing systems, coin processing machines, coin sorting and recycling assemblies, and methods of making and methods of using the same are presented herein. A currency processing system is disclosed which includes a housing with a coin input area for receiving coins and coin receptacles for stowing processed coins. A disk-type coin processing unit includes a rotatable disk for imparting motion to input coins, and a sorting head for separating and discharging coins from exit stations. An automated coin chute receives coins from one of the exit stations. The automated coin chute includes a movable diverter plate that selectively transitions between a first position, whereby coins received from the exit station of the disk-type coin processing unit are redirected through a coin-recycling output passage to a coin-recycling receptacle, and a second position, whereby coins received from the exit station are redirected through a coin-depositing output passage to a coin-depositing receptacle.

Abstract: An accounting device according to an embodiment includes an input device that receives an instruction to start a job. A first display device includes a first screen facing a first direction towards a person who operates the input device. A change machine includes a depositing port for receiving money and a dispensing port for dispensing money. A second display device includes a second screen facing a second direction different from the first direction and towards a person who deposits money into the depositing port or receives money from the dispensing port. When the instruction received by the input device is to start a predetermined job that is different from the accounting transaction and that includes depositing money into the change machine or dispensing money from the change machine, the processor causes information supporting execution of the predetermined job to be displayed on the second screen.

Abstract: An autonomous cash box for use in a payment terminal comprises an enclosure and a top portion mounted to the enclosure. The top portion has a displaceable lid. An electric motor and a control unit are mounted within the enclosure. The control unit is configured to activate the electric motor to selectively displace the lid to open or close the top portion of the autonomous cash box. A payment terminal receives the autonomous cash. Commands to open or close the lid may be sent from a wireless transmitter in the payment terminal and received at a wireless receiver of the autonomous cash box.

Abstract: The bezel assembly for data reception, for use with a bill validator in a financial transactional device, includes a bezel housing and a data reception assembly. The bezel housing includes a customer-facing front portion and a back plate connectable to the bill validator that is mounted within the transactional device cabinet. The front portion includes an insertion/dispensing slot for receiving currency and a projecting protrusion forward of the casing. The forward-extending protrusion accommodates at least a portion of the data reception assembly. The bezel assembly can include a wireless communication function that is communicably connectable with a mobile device via a wireless communication method, a manual entry function, a biometric reader, one or more cameras for scanning and decrypting 2D barcodes and the like, thus enhancing the overall functionality of the financial transactional device.
