Abstract: A foam made from a modified polypropylene resin comprising a graft copolymer prepared by copolymerizing a polypropylene resin with an aromatic vinyl monomer, wherein the average number of aromatic vinyl graft chains grafted per graft copolymer molecule is 1 or above and the weight-average molecular weight of the aromatic vinyl graft chain is 200 or above; and a process for the production thereof. This foam has a high closed-cell ratio and a high expansion ratio and is excellent in appearance.
