    Abstract: A high throughput system for sorting a plurality of different small object types into a plurality of cells of a plurality of small object cassettes is provided. The system comprises: at least one small object cassette having a plurality of small object cells; an automated conveyor system for transporting the cassette(s) from a loading location to a unloading location on the conveyor system; at least one cassette filling station disposed over the conveyor system such that the conveyor system extends under a small object distribution subsystem of each respective cassette filling station; and a computer based central control system structured and operable to control various operations of the conveyor system and each cassette filling station.

    Abstract: In various embodiments, a method for removing selected ellepots (62) from a plurality of germination ellepot trays (42A) and remapping the selected ellepots (62) to a planting ellepot tray (42B) is provided. The method can include placing one of a plurality of germination ellepot trays (42A) onto an ellepot ejection dock (14) of an ellepot workstation (30). Each germination ellepot tray (42A) comprises an array of ellepot receptacles (66) having an ellepot (62) disposed in each receptacle (66), wherein each ellepot (62) is populated with a plant germinating therein. The method can additionally include, acquiring tray information identifying the respective germination ellepot tray (42A), and automatically dislodging one or more selected populated ellepots (62) from the respective germination ellepot tray (42A) utilizing the acquired germination ellepot tray information.
