Abstract: Disclosed are systems, devices, and methods that employ a pump to assist or support blood flow. An apparatus for pumping blood may include a pump housing having an outerwall disposed about a longitudinal pump axis, and having an upstream end and a downstream end; a blood flow straightener having a plurality of fins and positioned in the upstream end of the pump housing and secured to the pump housing by the plurality of fins; a diffuser having a plurality of diffuser fins and positioned in the downstream end of the pump housing and secured to the pump housing by the plurality of diffuser fins; and an impeller positioned between the blood flow straightener and the diffuser, and including a plurality of impeller blades. The apparatus may further include a pump drive configured to impart a rotational motion to the impeller by applying a magnetic field.

Abstract: An intravascular blood pump for percutaneous insertion into a patient's vasculature comprises a pumping device (30) and a supply catheter. The pumping device comprises a pump section with a blood flow inlet, blood flow outlet, and impeller for conveying blood from the inlet to the outlet and further comprises a drive section connected to the pump section and adapted to drive the impeller. The supply line supplies the drive section with electric energy for driving the impeller. An anchoring structure (25A) is provided at a distal end region of the intravascular blood pump. A connecting catheter (25) may be attached to the anchoring structure from distally in order to guide the intravascular blood pump through the patient's vasculature in a distal direction.

The blood pump includes a pump housing, a rotor, and a flow converter positioned downstream from the rotor to convert non-axial flow from the rotor to axial flow. The pump housing defines an inlet and an outlet. The ECMO includes a membrane housing and an oxygenator membrane disposed within the membrane housing. The membrane housing is removably connected to the pump housing at one of the pump housing inlet and the pump housing outlet.

Abstract: An in-vivo micro blood pump is disclosed. The pump, comprising: a holder configured to be inserted into a blood vessel to be anchored to the blood vessel by one or more stents; and two or more micro-impellers located inside the holder while having the same rotation axis. Each micro-impeller may include a rotor and a cylindrical stator. The rotor may include a first hollow cylinder; two or more internal blades, extending inward from a wall of the first hollow cylinder, wherein the radial dimension of each blade is less than an internal radius of the first hollow cylinder; and one or more magnets. The cylindrical stator may include one or more electromagnets. A first micro impeller has a first blade pitch, and a second micro impeller has a second blade pitch, different from the first blade pitch.
