A transport vehicle for transporting a standard ISO freight container having four corner fittings disposed on a bottom surface of the freight container includes a pair of elongated upwardly facing transfer surfaces arranged spaced apart and parallel to each other and is arranged substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the transport vehicle. Further, the transfer surfaces are arranged underneath and abutting down facing surfaces of corner fittings of a freight container when the freight container is arranged on the transport vehicle. Each transfer surface is a sliding surface facilitating a sliding of the corner fittings of the freight container in a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the transport vehicle.

Lock mechanism of a twistlock (1) or of some other such fitting for fastening a twistlock or other fitting to a counterpart (5), such as to a corner casting (5) of a container or to a container foundation fixed to a hatch cover of a ship, which twistlock (1) or other fitting comprises a body (2). The invention is implemented in such a way that the lock mechanism comprises a locking part (3), which can be moved in relation to the body (2) between a locking position, in which twisting of the twistlock (1) or other fitting in the counterpart (5) is prevented, and an open position, in which twisting of the twistlock (1) or other fitting in the counterpart (5) is possible.

The invention relates to a heavy-duty transport vehicle (1) for containers (5), in particular ISO containers, which moves freely on floors, not on rails, and has a loading surface (2a) on which a first container (5) can be placed. In order to provide an improved heavy-duty transport vehicle (1) with increased transport capacity, a second container (5) can be placed on the first container (5) and the heavy-duty transport vehicle (1) comprises at least one guidance system (6) for guiding the second container (5), in particular the bottom fittings (5a) thereof, when the second container is placed on the first container (5), in particular onto the top fittings (5a) thereof. The invention also relates to a method for loading such a heavy-duty transport vehicle (1).

A lid (10) for a transport structure (11), the transport structure (11) being adapted to support the lid (11) and provide a space (56) in which an article (30) is receivable, the lid (10) being moveable between an attached condition in which the lid (10) is supported and coupled to the transport structure (11) and a removed condition in which the lid (10) is detached from the transport structure (11). The lid (10) includes at least one coupling (26) arranged to couple with the article (30) such that the article (30) is suspended from and carried by the lid (10) when the lid (10) is moved between the removed and the attached conditions. A shipping or transport system and associated methods of use are also disclosed.

The invention pertains to a transfer system (2) for horizontally and transversally transferring a freight container between a railway freight car (52) and a vehicle (66). The transfer system is placed on the vehicle and comprises at least two grabber arms (4) which are movable only in a direction transversal to the longitudinal extension of said vehicle. The movement of the grabber arms is accomplished by an endless chain (6) driven by a drive wheel (8) connected to a drive motor. Two tensioner wheels (10) are placed at each side of said drive wheel, where said tensioner wheels cooperate with the chain in such a way that one or the other tensioner wheel causes a tightening of the chain in dependence of whether the chain is driven in one or the other direction. The invention also pertains to a method of transferring a freight container between a railway freight car and a vehicle.
