    Abstract: A transport vehicle for transporting a standard ISO freight container having four corner fittings disposed on a bottom surface of the freight container includes a pair of elongated upwardly facing transfer surfaces arranged spaced apart and parallel to each other and is arranged substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the transport vehicle. Further, the transfer surfaces are arranged underneath and abutting down facing surfaces of corner fittings of a freight container when the freight container is arranged on the transport vehicle. Each transfer surface is a sliding surface facilitating a sliding of the corner fittings of the freight container in a lateral direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the transport vehicle.
