Said syntax is arranged to define queries the results of which are streams of data and said first software function is arranged to pose a first query to a second edge computing device (120); a second such software function of said type is arranged to, in response thereto, generate and communicate a second stream of data; the first software function is arranged to preprocessing said second stream so that it adheres to a predefined global data ontology. Systems and methods for controlling access to a blockchain are disclosed. The systems and methods are comprised of a security agent, a controller, an authenticator, a rules engine, and a policy engine. In certain embodiments, the security agent receives a message from an application, parses the message, and transmits the message to the controller if the message comprises one or more predetermined applicable rules or policies. The controller receives the message with its rules and policies, queries the rules engine and the policy engine to apply the rules and policies, and transmits an authentication request to the authenticator. The authenticator then requests an authentication signal from a user and transmits the results to the controller. The controller applies the results and forwards them to the security agent, which may or may not release the message to the blockchain depending the results.

Methods for identifying and obtaining a suitable application for interacting with a selected content item by providing secure access to a limited portion of information on the selected content item are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a selection from a user in an initial application running on a device to interact with a content item accessible by the initial application, and generating a hash value from the limited portion of information on the content item. The method further includes requesting a copy of the at least one suitable application when the comparison of the hash value for the content item with the hash value for the suitable application match, executing the suitable application on the device, and providing the limited portion of information on the content item to the suitable application for interaction by the user. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.
