The main light source comprises a gas discharge lamp (4).An auxiliary light source is present comprising a lamp (5) having a lower maximum light intensity than the main light source (4), whereinthe controlmeans can control the light intensity of the main light source (4) as well as the light intensity of the auxiliary light source (5).

The invention relates to a wake up stimulus control system, comprising a control unit (1) arranged to receive a user-determinable wake up time input and to control at least one stimulus source (11), a coupling for operably coupling at least one stimulus source (11) to said control unit, wherein the stimulus source (11) is controllable by the control unit (1) in such a way that the stimulus source (11) provides a gradually increasing stimulus output in dependence on said input wake up time, at least during a time period before the input wake up time, and at least one stimulus sensor (7) that is operably coupled to the control unit (1). The sensor allows a much better control of the supplied stimulus level to account for various ambient influences. The stimulus is preferably light. The invention also provides a socket, a stimulus source and a control unit for use in the system.

A blower unit for use as part of an integrated blower/humidification system is described. The blower unit has an outer casing, which encloses and forms part of the blower unit, the casing including an air inlet vent. The blower unit further includes a humidifier compartment for receiving a humidifier unit with a separate gases inlet and outlet, the compartment having a heater base for heating the contents of the humidifier unit. The compartment also has a blower inlet port which aligns with the humidifier unit inlet in use, the blower providing a gases path through the casing between the inlet vent and the inlet port. The blower unit also includes a fan for providing a pressurised gases stream along the gases path, and a power supply unit for powering the fan. The gases path is routed over the power supply unit in order to provide a cooling air flow.

The dozing preventive device (1) is composed of a touching part (2) which touches the teeth of the user, a vibration mechanism (3) which vibrates the touching part (2), a power supply part (5) which drives the vibration mechanism (3), and a housing case (6) in which the vibration mechanism (3) and the power supply part (5) are housed and by which the touching part (2) is supported. As a result, the user can be securely awakened without giving any limitation to the user.

The object of the invention is an equipement for regulating a person's level of natural activity appropriately according to day and night times and for achieving a more gentle and natural awakening. This equipment consists of a source of light (5) with necessary connecting wires and leads as well as devices for suspending it and a timer (3) for directing the switch-on time of the light source. The devices which are used primarily for waking people up, like alarm clocks, are unpleasant. The equipment according to this invention consists of a directional device connected to a timer, favourably a voltage output device (4), for gradually adjusting the intensity of the light coming from the source of light (5) when the source of light (5) has been arranged to radiate light which is adjustable in its intensity and wavelength.
