Abstract:
A dispensing device that attaches to a container has: (a) a hollow tube with opposing entrance and exit ends with a connector on the entrance end and a wall defining a flow channel; (b) a sleeve with opposing entrance and exit ends slidably extending over the hollow tube; (c) a sealing gasket between and contacting the hollow tube and sleeve; (d) a trigger mount rigidly attached to the hollow tube or container; (e) a trigger hingedly connected to the trigger mount and operatively connected to the sleeve; (f) an elastic element between the trigger and the hollow tube and/or container; wherein the exit end is closed and there is an opening through the hollow tube wall proximate to the exit end; the sleeve has an open dispensing end, reduces in inside diameter at dispensing end and engages the hollow tube when closed and disengages from the hollow tube when open.
Abstract:
A cross-flow filter assembly (10) including: a cylindrical filter (12) having an inner periphery (14) enclosing filter region (26) extending along an axis (X) from an opposing feed end (16) and an effluent end (18); and a cleaning assembly (32) axially-aligned within the filter region (26) and comprising at least one radially extending cleaning member (34) biased against the inner periphery (14) of the filter (12), wherein the cleaning assembly (32) is adapted to rotate about the axis (X) to remove debris from the inner periphery (14) of the filter (12); and is characterized by a compressive member (40) providing a continuous radially outward force that biases the cleaning member (34) against the inner periphery (14) of the porous screen (24).
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to reclosable packages comprising a front wall, a rear wall, and a closure region proximate to an outer edge of the container opposite a bottom of the container. The closure region includes a plurality of seal regions forming a continuous seal between the front wall and the rear wall across a width of the package and at least one of the seal regions is nonlinear. The closure region further includes at least one unsealed region defined between the seal regions. In some reclosable packages, the application of an opening force proximate to the closure region is operable to break the continuous seal between the front wall and the rear wall across a width of the package. The seal geometry may be tuned to adjust the magnitude of opening force required.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a flexible container. In an embodiment, the flexible container includes (A) a front panel, a rear panel, a first gusseted side panel, and a second gusseted side panel. The gusseted side panels adjoin the front panel and the rear panel along peripheral seals to form a chamber. (B) Each peripheral seal has (i) an arcuate body seal inner edge (ABSIE) with opposing ends, (ii) a tapered seal inner edge (TSIE) extending from each end of the body seal, and (iii) a corner arc where each tapered seal inner edge extends from a respective ABSIE end. (C) The flexible container includes at least one corner arc having a radius of curvature, Rc, from 1.0 mm to 300.0 mm.
Abstract:
An article includes a can with a valve stem and a dispensing device attached to the valve stem where the dispensing device includes a hollow base, a hollow tube attached to the hollow base the hollow tube having one or more than one hole proximate to its exit end, a sleeve with a finger pad that slides over the hollow tube and an elastic connector attaching the sleeve to at least one of the hollow base and hollow tube, and a sealing gasket residing between the hollow tube and sleeve, wherein the dispensing device can reversibly move between a closed position where the sleeve seals the one or more than one hole in the hollow tube and an open position where the one or more than one hole in the hollow tube is unsealed by the sleeve and the elastic connector provides a restoring force to the sleeve when in the open position that directs the sleeve to a closed position.
Abstract:
A dispensing device for attaching to a container having a valve stem includes: (a) a hollow tube having a flow channel defined by a wall extending between entrance and exit ends with a connector on the entrance end for connecting to the valve stem; (b) a sleeve extending slidably over a portion of the hollow tube, the sleeve extending over, and having an opening proximate to, the hollow tube's exit end; (c) a sealing gasket around the outside of the hollow tube and between the hollow tube and the sleeve that prevents fluid communication past the gasket between the hollow tube and sleeve; (d) a trigger mount rigidly attached to the hollow tube or container; (e) a trigger hingedly connected at a first location to the trigger mount and operatively engaged with the sleeve at a second location; and (f) an elastic element between the trigger and the hollow tube and/or container.
Abstract:
An article contains an elbow (10) having at least two sections (20, 30) that are hingedly attached to one another by means of a hinging joint (40) so that the first section (20) can move in a plane with respect to the second section (30), wherein the sections (20, 30) define a passageway (50) through which a dispensing straw may extend. The passageway (50) extends all the way through the two sections (20, 30) and perpendicularly through the hinging joint (40) attaching them. The article can include a bendable dispensing straw (60) extending through the passageway of the elbow.
