Abstract: Reserves of immortalized genetic material are stored in a bank for unlimited genetic analysis, tissue creation, lab-in-a-dish, and the like. The bank serves as a valuable platform for a variety of applications, including biological applications (e.g., genotyping, drug screening, personalized medicine), that require repeated testing, access to a biological sample, and maintenance over a long period of time. For example, a biological sample is stored as induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that can be used to generate an unlimited supply of genetic material when needed by a user. In this way, for instance, the generation of excess genetic material from additional samples provided by an individual can be avoided and costs to an organization associated with producing genetic material from biological sample can be deferred until necessary.

Abstract: Presented herein are methods and systems for using genotyping data of an individual to create and/or modify in-game avatars. Genotyping data is used to create and update avatar objects. Avatar objects are data structures that comprise data, based on genotyping data, that define individual avatars and can be exported for import into a game to generate an avatar. Traits of an individual are characterized by feature values included in an avatar object. Avatars generated from avatar objects may appear to physically resemble an individual or may have an appearance that fits the thematic elements of a game while still reflecting the phenotype of the individual (based on the individual's genotyping data). Avatars may be used in games for entertainment, for interactive or realistic health tracking, simulations, simulated work environments, or other similar purposes.

Abstract: Reserves of immortalized genetic material are stored in a bank for providing a resource (e.g., artificial gametes) for couples (e.g., same sex couples) to produce biologically-related children. The reserves provide the ability to derive sperm from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) of one partner and/or eggs from iPSCs of the other partner. For example, a biological sample is stored as iPSCs that can be used to generate an unlimited supply of genetic material (e.g., artificial gametes for conception) when needed by a user (e.g., a year or more after the sample is provided, e.g., 5 years or more after the sample is provided). Such a bank is helpful for an individual in a same sex (or infertile) couple who desires to have biological children at some point during his/her lifetime, but does not plan to have children in the immediate timeframe, for example.

Abstract: Described herein are various systems, methods, and apparatus for systematic creation of isolated homogeneous colonies of cells from vector-based lineages. The vector-based lineages may originate from multiple types of viral vector families (e.g., Paramyxoviridae, Retroviridae, Parvoviridae) or non-natural engineered vectors or a plurality of vector combinations, for example. In certain embodiments, the isolated homogeneous colonies of cells are vector-free sub-colonies; in other embodiments, the isolated homogeneous colonies of cells are homogeneous vector sub-colonies. In other embodiments, vector mixed sub-colonies are created. The disclosed systems, methods, and apparatus are useful for inducible pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) production and work by selectively binding to one or more corresponding protein markers expressed on the surface of a cell that indicate that cellular reprogramming has occurred. Software is used to automate the purification and isolation of the iPSCs produced.

Abstract: A meter value that reflects the amount of genetic material stored in a reserve is stored in a database for each reserve in a bank. Meter values allow a user to track the amount of genetic material in the reserves of a bank without needing to physically measure or disturb the reserves unnecessarily. As users withdraw and deposit genetic material from and into a reserve, the meter value is changed to reflect the change in the amount of genetic material in the reserve. In certain embodiments, the use of meter values enables accurate and instant accounting of a large number of reserves of genetic material for a large number of individuals. Users and/or individuals may be notified when a meter value falls below a threshold. Notifications may prompt a user to generate additional genetic material from biological sample or an individual to provide additional biological sample.

Abstract: Presented herein are systems and methods related to a scalable and platform-agnostic framework that facilitates the creation of personal genetic profile products. In particular, in certain embodiments, the systems and methods described herein facilitate the creation, storage, organization, and maintenance (e.g. updating) of data corresponding to the relationships between particular variations that may occur in an individual's DNA (e.g. variants of different specific SNPs) and the health-related phenotypes that they influence. The data stored in this manner can be used as a template not only for presenting personal genetic profile assessments to an individual in an informative and user-friendly manner, but also for the rapid, automated creation of personal genetic profile assessments of a plurality of individuals from data corresponding to genotyping measurements of biological samples provided by the individuals.
