A by-pass shower door system has a compression mounting system including a horizontal header and curb and upright jambs. The header includes a header rail with parallel tracks for slidably mounting the door panels and a threaded header expansion assembly. The curb is mounted beneath the header and includes two curb rails and a threaded curb expansion assembly coupled to the curb rails. The compression assemblies have threaded shafts that engage nuts mounted to the rails such that adjusting the compression assemblies (by turning the shafts) applies a compressive force on opposing end walls of a shower enclosure to mount the header and curb. A cap overlapping the header rail conceals the header expansion asembly. A center guide, having parallel tracks for bottom ends of the door panels, conceals the curb expansion assembly.

BATHROOM FITTING The invention provides a method of and apparatus for, mounting a bathroom fitting, particularly a shower screen or shower enclosure. In one aspect the invention provides fixing units having internal adjustment so that, when used to mount a base member on a wall, the vertical alignment of the base member can be established without the need to drill further mounting holes. The invention also provides a means for physically supporting a screen on a mounted base member so that the position of the screen or enclosure member can be adjusted into the desired position, while being supported, before final fixing.

A hinge assembly is provided comprising two hinge components with a first hinge component having at least one pivot receiving cylinder (3) and a pivot leaf (2) adapted for attachment to a closure (5) or closure support. A second hinge component has a bracket leaf (11) and a slider leaf (12) one of which has an aligned pivot receiving cylinder (13) that receives a hinge pivot (14) connecting it to the pivot receiving cylinder (3) of the first hinge component. The other of the bracket leaf (11) and slider leaf (12) is adapted for attachment to the other of a closure support or closure. The bracket leaf (11) and slider leaf (12) have co-operationg formations (10) that provide for transverse adjustment of their relative positions in a direction transverse to the axis of the hinge pivot. A locking arrangement (16) locks the bracket leaf (11) relative to the slider leaf (12) in a desired adjusted relative position thereof.

An upright post with a cavity is disclosed, which comprises a section bar body (1) and an installation groove (2) for installing a glass section bar (8) being arranged within an interior of the section bar body (1). Two raised section bars (3) protruding from a side wall of the installation groove (2) are arranged on one side of the installation groove (2). A hollow cavity (4) for installing a combined fixation member is formed between the two raised section bars (3). A positioning projection (7) is arranged on the other side of the installation groove (2) opposite to the hollow cavity (4), and a side surface of the positioning projection (7) toward the hollow cavity (4) is configured for fixing a rubber strip. The upright post can be installed quickly and reduce the use of aluminum alloy at the same time.

A shower door assembly (10) includes a swingable door panel (14) mounted to a stationary side enclosure panel (12) by a pair of hinge assemblies (16, 18) that are transversely adjustable to correct for out-of-plumb conditions. The hinge assemblies (16, 18) include pocketed (36, 37) stationary hinges (34, 35) capping the ends of the side panel and moveable hinges (46, 47) mounted to the door panel (14) in a slidable slot (58, 59) and pin (66, 68) connection. The side panel (12) is mountable to an enclosure wall by an upright wall jamb (20) defining a track (72) in which can slide a jamb pin (74) disposed through the side panel (12). The wall jamb (20) is shorter than the side panel (12) and mounts accessory attachments (28, 30) at its upper end, such as a robe hook (28) and a razor holder (30).

An adjustable wall jamb (10) is disclosed which can compensate for a variety of variations in wall structures when fitting a panel member thereto. One adjustable wall jamb is for a shower enclosure and affords a channel (50) into which a portion of the wall panel (15) is sealed, and thus provides a "floating" type seal without contacting an end of the adjustable wall jamb. The adjustable wall jamb is formed as a support post and is telescopingly fitted into a stud jamb (36). In an alternative embodiment, there is a one-piece adjustable wall jamb (70) having securing flanges (81, 82) and sealing fingers (83) formed as a one-piece unit. This can be utilized in conjunction with the square fitment of a panel to a wall, a corner construction, or an angled construction.
