Abstract:
A nest die for mechanically securing an electrical connector to a conductor wire is provided. The nest die includes a conductor receipt area and a lip. The receipt area has an outer periphery and a bottom surface. The lip is at the outer periphery of the receipt area. The outer periphery is sufficient to receive a free end of the conductor wire abutting the bottom surface and a lower face of the electrical connector on the lip. In this manner, the nest die can be used to easily and reproducibly seat the electrical connector in the die at a predetermined position on the conductor wire.
Abstract:
A post-less coaxial cable connector comprising coupler, a formable outer conductor, body, and actuating insert. The coupler is adapted to attach the coaxial cable connector to a terminal. The outer conductor positions in and rotatably retains the coupler. Body attaches to the outer conductor and positions about the coupler. Actuating insert is movably positionable within the body and is configured to advance toward the coupler and urge the outer conductor of the coaxial cable connector radially inwardly to form the outer conductor about outer conductor of coaxial cable. In this manner, the coaxial cable connector is configured to attach to a coaxial cable other than by using a post.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Provided is a connector (200; 700) for establishing an electrical connection with a conductive tape (100). The conductive tape comprises at least a first conducting laver (104) and an insulating layer (102). The connector comprises a first conductive region (204; 710) and a first connection region (712). The first connection region (712) is adapted to establish an electrical connection between the first conducting layer (104) of the conducting tape and the first conductive region (204; 110) when a perturbation is applied. The perturbation may be the application of pressure or temperature to the connector.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a connector contact for an electrical connector (20) comprising a mating portion (23) capable of receiving a counter contact and a clamping portion (24) capable of attaching said connector contact to a wire. The clamping portion comprises at least a first wire clamping beam (25) and a second wire clamping beam (26) and wherein said first wire clamping beam and said second wire clamping beam separately extend from said mating portion. The invention further relates to a cable connector comprising such a connector contact and a method of attaching a wire to such a connector contact.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a factory installed wiring guide that guides conductors into position for quality termination and crimp and which provides strain relief (support) for the wires or fibers and the outer sheath of the cable to create a quality cable or sub-cable assembly supporting termination at both ends of the cable. The wiring guide is sized to overcome obstacles and fit into conduits during network wiring installation. The wiring guide may be inserted into a cavity on the backside of a RJ45 female connector, completing the termination of a station cable to a RJ45 female jack. The wiring guide may be installed into a plastic housing creating a RJ45 male connector. The wiring guide may be utilized for multiple connections without damaging or compromising the wiring guide and without the need for cutting the wire from the sub-connector. The wiring guide supports universal attachment to either male or female RJ45 connectors.
Abstract:
An electrical connector and method of making the same includes a radially resilient, cylindrical electrical contact member (22) having a plurality of space strips (24) extending between opposite ends of a sleeve (28). The ends of the strips (24) are held in one or more housings (30, 40, 146, 162) in an angularly offset, end-to-end position. The contact member (22) and the sleeve (28) are urged from the one or more housings into a cylindrical portion (60) of a holder or use element (62) to mount the connector directly in the holder or use element. In one aspect, the contact strips (188) are formed as individual strips joined to opposed ends of the sleeve.
