Abstract:
A method is shown to create soft transition in selected topologies by preserving the leakage inductance energy during the dead time and using several techniques to supplement the energy require to discharge the parasitic capacitance of the primary switchers and obtain zero voltage switching. One technique consists in a current pulse injection across the synchronous rectifiers during the dead time and prior the turn off of the synchronous rectifiers. A second technique consist in tailoring the magnetizing current through frequency modulation to increase the energy in the leakage inductance and use that energy to discharge the parasitic capacitance of the primary switchers and at lighter load to have a magnetizing current which exceeds the current through the output inductor at the end of the dead time. The third technique is interleaving two converters and sharing a couple inductance in a way to lower the current through each output inductor under the level of the magnetizing current at its lowest amplitude. The fourth technique is controlling the turn off timing of the primary switchers and turn on timing for the secondary synchronous rectifier and in this way to control the energy in the leakage inductance during the dead time in order to build enough energy in the leakage inductance to discharge the parasitic capacitances of the primary switchers to zero. In a given application we may use one or several of these technique function of the operating conditions.
Abstract:
A new and useful door locking device, door locking assembly, and method of constructing a door locking assembly is provided. The door locking device includes first and second subassemblies configured to connect to a door jamb and door, respectively, a first locking member connected to one of the subassemblies and a second locking member connected to the other subassembly. The first and second locking members are selectively engaged to lock the door with the jamb and selectively disengaged to unlock the door from the jamb. The connection of the second subassembly to the door being is designed to allow adjustment of the one of the locking components in a plurality of directions, to enable the door locking device to be adjusted provide a predetermined locking orientation of the first and second locking members. The connection of the first subassembly to the door jamb is designed to provide minimal, easily repaired, intrusion to the structure of the door jamb; and the connection of the second subassembly to the door is of a type that connects to the door surface without damage to the door while providing a secure connection of the locking components when they are selectively engaged.

A method is shown to create soft transition in selected topologies by controlling and designing a current pulse injection in front of the output choke to overwhelm the output current at a certain point in the switching cycle.
Abstract:
A new and useful method is provided, for enhancing the immune system of a donor/recipient. Stem cells are collected from the donor/recipient at a time that the donor/recipient appears to have a healthy immune system, taking into consideration the age of the donor/recipient and the characteristics of a healthy immune system for a donor/recipient of that age. The stem cells are processed and stored in a condition that enables the stem cells to be later administered to that donor/recipient in predetermined amounts, in serial (consecutive) fashion, over predetermined time intervals, and at the later request of the donor/recipient, the stem cells are administered to the donor/recipient in serial (consecutive) fashion, over predetermined time intervals, to enhance the donor/recipient's immune system thereby preventing formation of age related diseases that are caused by rundown immune system. The practice of the present invention results in replenishing the hematopoietic system and primarily rebuilding the immune system in an aged individual. Also noteworthy, it refreshes the repertoire of stem cells, which are at the point of exhaustion, bringing about extension of life span and can also be used for improvement of cognitive functions of the donor/recipient.
Abstract:
A method that uses an (DOPC) surfactant based biofilm that reacts with a material in a known manner, and a device that utilizes such a biofilm, to detect a material of interest is provided. The principles of the present invention are particularly useful in detecting/measuring a material that is harmful to a human or to property.
Abstract:
A new and useful concept for utilizing an air flow in connection with a primary function, to produce electricity, to provide a clean alternative source of electrical energy, is provided. The electrical energy is produced in connection with a primary air flow in a facility, and preferably used and/or in the facility from which it is generated.

An exercise device and sparring apparatus that includes a supporting base, a biasing mechanism coupled to, and supported vertically above, the base, a shaft attached to the biasing mechanism, and an arm member disposed in substantially perpendicular arrangement with the shaft, with the arm member further including a cushion disposed upon a punching end of the arm member.
Abstract:
A new and useful digital wipe structure, and method for handling the wipe structure, are provided that is particularly useful in forming and handling a an oral wipe to clean teeth and gums, especially a young child’s teeth and gums. A digital wipe structure comprises a piece of material impregnated with an oral therapeutic solution and configured to be wrapped completely about a user’s index finger to provide a sleeve about the user’s index finger. The wipe structure is further configured so that when wrapped about a user’s index finger an outer portion of the sleeve is oriented so that pressure from the user’s thumb will hold stabilize the sleeve and maintain the sleeve on the user’s index finger, preferably against the middle or distal phalanx. The digital wipe structure can form an oral wipe that can be efficiently produced and easily handled by a user to produce a wipe that is impregnated with an oral therapeutic solution and can be formed into a sleeve that can be effectively stabilized on a user’s finger (preferably against the middle or distal phalanx), and effectively used to clean a person’s teeth and gums. Moreover, a preferred wipe can be folded into a pattern that enables the wipe to be effectively packaged, and effectively unfolded and formed into a sleeve that can be stabilized on a user’s finger, despite the fact that the wipe is impregnated with an oral therapeutic solution.
Abstract:
This invention focuses on electrooptic devices and in particular on electrochromic devices with many aspects directed towards automotive EC mirrors. There are several ways to improve these products and their processing using this invention and some of the prominent ones are outlined below. This invention improves on the devices by disclosing new compositions for electrodes and methods of depositing them. It also addresses novel ways to provide busbars to power these devices in order to improve their performance. The device processing attributes and performance are also improved by adhesive compositions and solid electrolytes disclosed herein. In addition sensors are also disclosed which are novel for use in electrochromic mirrors. The invention also discloses how the electrolytes comprising ionic liquids have no adverse effect on attributes of commercial EC mirrors and often result in improved performance and/or feature enhancements.
Abstract:
A preformed, self supporting article (100) is provided, which can function as a tile substrate. The tile substratum has inherent durability, strength and ease of application and reduces the installation process for building tile to such a degree as to be significantly easier and faster than built up substratum and in addition requires no other structural components such as wood or plywood. The tile substrate is formed of lightweight cast or preformed mixture of cement/expanded polystyrene and water, which individually or when assembled together, provide a complete, ready to tile substratum. Individually or in assembly the substratum units are self-supporting, and require a minimum of modification to complete their installation. Individual units are designed and manufactured to address the majority of common tiled counter top configurations with easy modification or cutting to size. Common counter top configurations may include: Plain or blank kitchen or bath counter tops, plain or blank bar top or counters, sink and stove surrounds of various sizes and shapes, corner build-outs of triangular and other geometric shapes in various sizes and end caps of assorted sizes and shapes.
