Abstract:
A novel process of controlling triazine-tolerant weeds by the application of a composition comprising mesotrione to the locus of said weeds is disclosed.
Abstract:
A process is disclosed for the hydrogenation of a compound comprising an α,β-unsaturated carbonyl group to form a compound comprising an allyl alcohol group, wherein the hydrogenation is carried out in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst, hydrogen gas and an inorganic base in a solvent, wherein the solvent is essentially free of water and the hydrogenation catalyst is an iron-, ruthenium- or osmium-containing complex of Formula (III), (IV), (V) or (VI) as described in the description.
Abstract:
A process for preparing a catalyst material, said catalyst material comprising a support material, a first metal and one or more second metals, wherein the first metal and the second metal(s) are alloyed and wherein the first metal is a platinum group metal and the second metal(s) is selected from the group of transition metals and tin provided the second metal(s) is different to the first metal is disclosed. The process comprises depositing a silicon oxide before or after deposition of the second metal(s), alloying the first and second metals and subsequently removing silicon oxide. A catalyst material prepared by this process is also disclosed.
Abstract:
An ion-conducting membrane comprising: (i) a first ion-conducting layer comprising one or more first ion-conducting polymers; and (ii) a barrier layer comprising graphene-based platelets is disclosed.
Abstract:
A reinforced membrane, said reinforced membrane comprising: (i) a planar reinforcing component made from metal, carbon, polymer or a composite thereof, and (ii) an ion-conducting material, characterised in that the planar reinforcing component is a cellular structure, comprising a plurality of discrete cells, wherein the wall of each cell extends through the thickness of the component such that the cell wall is impermeable to the proton- conducting material and wherein the proton-conducting material fills the cells of the planar reinforcing component is disclosed. Such a membrane is of use in a fuel cell or an electrolyser.
Abstract:
A process for selectively controlling the crystallisation of thermodynamically stable Form (1) or kinetically stable Form (2) polymorphs of mesotrione from an aqueous mesotrione solution, said method comprising adjusting the pH of the mesotrione solutions to a value wherein said thermodynamically stable Form (1) or kinetically stable Form (2) mesotrione is ultimately obtained is disclosed.
