    Abstract: A power connector assembly with hermaphroditic power connectors. The housing and the terminals of first and second mating power connectors may have like mating interfaces. The first power connector may include a plurality of first terminals, where the mating portion of each first terminal of the plurality of first terminals includes a first flat portion, and a first bent portion coupled to the first flat portion and including a first set of fingers parallel to the first flat portion. The second power connector may include a plurality of second terminals, where each second terminal of the plurality of second terminals includes a mating portion with a second flat portion, and a second bent portion coupled to the second flat portion and including a second set of fingers parallel to the second flat portion.

    Abstract: In various embodiments, compact connector designs may be provided that have reduced board pitch (e.g., 1.80 mm, 1.50 mm, 1.27 mm, etc.), but are still capable of accommodating large electrical conductors (e.g., 1.4 mm, 1.1 mm, 0.9 mm, etc.). In this manner, PCB footprint may be reduced (e.g., by 50% when a staggered connector configuration is used), while adequate current carrying capacity may be maintained (e.g., 2 A, 3 A, 4 A, etc.). Additionally, or alternatively, one or more other advantages may be achieved, such as ruggedness (e.g., vibration endurance), error proofing, configuration flexibility, ease of manufacturing, ease of assembly, and/or lowered costs.

    Abstract: A modular, hybrid electrical connector suitable for use as a power connector with contacts for different types of power. Portions of the connector may be electrically and mechanically connected to an electronic assembly at different times or in different ways. A first portion of the connector may be electrically connected to a printed circuit board within the assembly. A second portion may be subsequently attached to the first portion and electrically connected to other components within the assembly through cables. With this configuration, the first portion may carry power contacts, coupled to a DC supply through the printed circuit board, and the second portion may carry power contacts, coupled to an AC supply through the cables. The first portion may be soldered to the printed circuit board such as through a reflow operation, without the heat of the reflow damaging the insulation of the cable, which may degrade if heated.

    Abstract: An electrical connector configured for differential pairs with low in-pair skew. The connector may comprise lead frame assemblies, such as insert molded lead frame assemblies, with adjacent conductors configured for reduced skew by distributing skew correction throughout the transmission path through the lead frame assembly. Elongated air gaps are formed in a side of the housing, exposing the longer conductor of each pair. The elongated air gap may span the entire length of the arc of a longer conductor of each pair. The width of this air gap may be different for different pairs in the lead frame assembly and may be selected to cancel or prevent in-pair skew from arising. The width for each pair may be selected to tune the effective dielectric constant of the longer conductor such that its electrical length matches that of the shorter conductor.
