Electrical interconnection systems are described. One electrical interconnection system may include a panel connector configured to be attached to a board connector. The panel connector may be further configured to be mated with a plug connector such that, when mated, the panel connector and the plug connector are attached to a panel. The panel connector may include one or more projections, at the interface where the panel connector engages with the board connector, sized to slide into respective channels in the board connector so as to facilitate mounting operations. The projection(s) may be arranged asymmetrically relative to an axis that passes through the center of the interface between the panel connector and the board connector, while the mating contacts may be arranged symmetrically relative to the axis. In this way, mounting in the wrong orientation may be precluded.

Gripping structures proximate to the first opening retain the strip light. A gasket (44) or gaskets within the connector seal the connector from the elements.
