Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for checking the information to be printed on at least one intermediate support manufactured to be used for printing an image on a final support, the image being defined by an image file, comprising the steps of: deriving a production file from a prepress file created from a plurality of elementary files to visually match the image file, said production file containing data used by a production machine for manufacturing an intermediate support used for printing that image on the final support, characterized in that it includes the further steps of : deriving a test image from the production file before using it ; and comparing said test image with that to be obtained on the final support and pointing out any difference between them.
Abstract:
In a composite machine provided with a copy mode and a print mode, an operation history of each operation mode is accurately timed and log information concerning an electric power of the composite machine for processing various jobs such as the copy mode and the print mode is prepared based on a timed value.
Abstract:
The number of dots per inch or resolution may be specified within an image on a document or within a postal indicia and later checked to determine if the image or document or the postal indicia has the correct resolution. The foregoing is accomplished by specifying that the image on the substrate (14) will be printed with n plus m dots per inch; rotating an ink jet head (11) having n nozzles per inch about an axis (13) parallel to a substrate by an angle theta so that the ink jet head will produce an image on the substrate having (n/cos theta) dots per inch; storing in a data center that the specified image will be printed with (n/cos theta) dots per inch; analyzing the image to determine if the image has (n/cos theta) dots per inch; and comparing the number of dots per inch in the analyzed image with the number of dots per inch stored for the specified image to determine if they have the same number of dots per inch.
