Abstract:
A capability is provided for detecting a misaligned page of a document. A method includes detecting that a page is misaligned and generating a control signal adapted for use in triggering presentation of an alarm indicating that the page is misaligned. A method includes detecting that a page is misaligned and initiating one or more control actions for the misaligned page. These and other methods may be performed on any suitable copy device, such as on a fax machine, a photocopy machine, a scanner, a photograph copying device, a user device, a network device, and the like, as well as devices having combinations of such functionality.
Abstract:
A scanner (125, Fig. 3) having a serviceable circuit board assembly (275) with a stair - stepping configuration (see Fig.3). The scanner has a card cage (260) for mounting circuit boards in the rear (210, Fig 2) of the scanner. The card cage has an access opening (270, Fig. 2). A first circuit board and a second circuit board (275) are mounted inside the card cage (260). The test points (Fig. 5) and light emitting diodes (290) are positioned within the viewable portion of the second circuit board (see Figs. 3 and 6).
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a display unit; a storage unit configured to store data to be displayed in the display unit and a display condition for displaying the data; a determination unit configured to determine whether the display condition is satisfied in accordance with a change of status of the apparatus; a display control unit configured to display the data in the display unit in response to an event in which the determination unit determines that the display condition is satisfied; and an updating unit configured to obtain, via a network at a timing represented by information that is stored in association with the data, update information corresponding to at least one of the data and the display condition related to the data, and to update the at least one of the data and the display condition stored in the storage unit based on the update information.
Abstract:
A system and method for remotely monitoring and servicing user's print system including the ability to diagnose a problem with a user's print system based on properties monitored from such system and creating a query that predicts the source of the problem based on past history for this print system and other user's print systems.
Abstract:
A method of measuring the quality of a printed image, including the steps of:- providing a substrate with a printed image thereon; obtaining a digital image of a part of the printed image using an image obtaining apparatus; and measuring one or more physical characteristics of the obtained digital image so as to provide an indication of the quality of the printed image.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for recording and reading a color image formed on a receiving medium (30) such as a film coated with a blue metastable colloidal silver. Upon application of heat to selected areas of the coating, the blue silver turns yellow to form an image. In a record mode, a modulated beam from a diode laser (43) is scanned onto the receiving medium to form an image. In a read mode, a diode laser beam containing two different wavelengths of radiation is scanned across an image on the recording medium. In order to detect errors in the image, a detector (40) senses the two wavelengths at each pixel and produces signals indicative of the densities of the yellow and blue in the pixel. Signal processing means (60) is adapted to determine valid data points from the two signals.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus (100) inspects an image printed on a recording medium (105) or an intermediate transfer body. In the image processing apparatus (100), a synthesizing portion (103) creates synthetic image information in which information is synthesized with main image information in a visible state which can be perceived with the human eyes, in an invisible state which is hard to perceive with the human eyes. A print portion (104) prints the synthetic image information created by the synthesizing portion (103) on a medium and an inspection image input portion (106) reads a synthetic image printed on the recording medium or the intermediate transfer body as an inspection image. The extracting portion (107) carries out an extraction processing of extracting information synthesized with the main image information in the inspection image inputted by the inspection image input portion (106) and a fault determining portion (108) determines a fault of the image printed on the recording medium or the intermediate transfer body, based on an extraction result of the information by the extracting portion (107).
Abstract:
A print system with scanner with diagnostic system including one or more image capture modules mounted in a body, such that the imaging modules scan a diagnostic area around the print mechanisms to capture a representative image of said diagnostic area. The one or more image capture modules mounted in the body in fixed relation to the diagnostic area being operative to capture a stream of the representative images of the diagnostic area in order to generate output leading to recommended corrective actions.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for checking the information to be printed on at least one intermediate support manufactured to be used for printing an image on a final support, the image being defined by an image file, comprising the steps of: deriving a production file from a prepress file created from a plurality of elementary files to visually match the image file, said production file containing data used by a production machine for manufacturing an intermediate support used for printing that image on the final support, characterized in that it includes the further steps of : deriving a test image from the production file before using it ; and comparing said test image with that to be obtained on the final support and pointing out any difference between them.
