Abstract:
A method for making a photographic print having an adhesive is provided. The method includes the steps of (a) providing a roll of dual coated adhesive tape, (b) providing a roll of photographic print having two substantially parallel edges and having opposing first and second surfaces, the first surface containing an image; and (c) laminating the tape and the photographic print. The dual adhesive coated tape includes a differential release liner having opposing first and second surfaces, the first surface having a higher release value than the second surface; a repositionable adhesive disposed on the first side of the liner; a support layer disposed on the repositionable adhesive, the support layer having a stiffness of less than about 50,000 Newton per meter in its cross-web direction, as measured according to ASTM 882-02; and a permanent pressure sensitive adhesive disposed on the support layer.

The invention relates to a photochromic film, the preparation and use of such a film, objects covered by such a photochromic film, such as window panes, and devices comprising objects covered by such a photochromic film, such as windows.
Abstract:
Thermally developable materials including photothermographic and thermographic materials have an outermost backside layer that includes a combination of a polysiloxane and a smectite clay that has been modified with a quaternary ammonium compound. The resulting outermost backside layers exhibit improved abrasion resistance. The materials can also include conductive layers underneath the outermost backside layer.
Abstract:
A new underlayer composition that exhibits high etch resistance and improved optical properties is disclosed. The underlayer composition comprises a vinyl or acrylate polymer, such as a methacrylate polymer, the polymer comprising at least one substituted or unsubstituted naphthalene or naphthol moiety, including mixtures thereof. Examples of the polymer of this invention include: formula (I), (II), (III), (IV), where each R 1 is independently selected from an organic moiety or a halogen; each A is independently a single bond or an organic moietry; R 2 is hydrogen or a methyl group; and each X, Y and Z is an integer of 0 to 7, and Y+Z is / or less. The organic moiety mentioned above may be a substituted or unsubtituted hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of a linear or branched alkyl, halogenated linear or branched alkyl, aryl, halogenated aryl, cyclic alkyl, and halogenated cyclic alkyl, and any combination thereof. The compositions are suitable for use as planarizing underlayer in a multilayer lithographic process, including a trilayer lothographic process.
Abstract:
A multilayer optical device which comprises one or more radiation scattering layers, radiation absorption layers, tint layers, interfacial layers, adhesive layers, protective layers, matte, non-reflective, anti-glare, antistatic or embossed surface layers, focusing layers and supporting layers is described. Interfacial layers, adhesive layers, protective layers, tint layers, matte, non-reflective, anti-glare, antistatic or embossed surface layers, focusing layers and supporting layers may be optional in some embodiments of the invention. The device is used to display an image which is projected either in the transmission or reflection mode.
Abstract:
A topcoat material for applying on top of a photoresist material is disclosed. The topcoat material comprises at least one solvent and a polymer which has a dissolution rate of at least 3000 A/second in aqueous alkaline developer. The polymer contains a hexafluoroalcohol monomer unit comprising one of the following two structures: (I) wherein n is an integer. The topcoat material may be used in lithography processes, wherein the topcoat material is applied on a photoresist layer. The topcoat material is 10 preferably insoluble in water, and is therefore particularly useful in immersion lithography techniques using water as the imaging medium.
Abstract:
A method of making a photopolymer sleeve blank is provided which includes providing a base sleeve, applying a cushion layer over the base sleeve, and applying a first photopolymer layer over the cushion layer. The exteriorfacing surface of the first photopolymer layer is exposed to a curing source, followed by the application of a second, uncured photopolymer layer over the first photopolymer layer. The first photopolymer layer is preferably ground to a predetermined thickness either before or after exposure to the curing source to provide a preferred floor dimension. The resulting photopolymer sleeve blank has a uniform floor which can be readily imaged and processed by conventional equipment used in the flexographic printing industry.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel photochromic composition for controlling the transmission of light comprising an organic polymer, photochromic dye, photosensitizer and an electron acceptor. The invention also includes a method for preparing photochromic films.
Abstract:
Novel positive-working photoresist compositions are disclosed. The monomers of the base resin of the resist contain diamondoid-containing pendant groups higher than adamantane in the polymantane series; for example, diamantane, triamantane, tetramantane, pentamantane, hexamantane, etc. The diamondoid-containing pendant group may have hydrophilic-enhancing substituents such as a hydroxyl group, and may contain a lactone group. Advantages of the present compositions include enhanced resolution, sensitivity, and adhesion to the substrate.
Abstract:
The present method and system features an active compliant pin chuck to hold a substrate, having opposed first and second surfaces, and compensates for non-planarity in one of the surfaces of the substrate. To that end, the method includes creating a point contact on the first surface to generate a change in shape of the second surface to obtain a desired shape of the second surface. The desired shape may be smooth, if not substantially planar or any other shape desired within the operational parameters of the chuck and the substrate. For example, the method may compensate for non-planarity due to particular matter on the first surface and substrate topography. To that end, the support system includes a piezo pins being coupled to piezo actuators to undergo relative movement with respect to said reference pins. These and other embodiments are discussed more fully below.
