Abstract:
A video object is recorded on an optical disc. The video object is composed of at least one video object unit, and each video object unit contains control information and video data and has a presentation time of one second or shorter. The control information relates to display control and copying control for the video object unit.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a small-size imaging apparatus comprising a sensor (4) and an objective consisting of focusing lenses (8, 9, 10) arranged in a frame (12). The sensor is fitted to a first surface (16) of a support (18) which has an opening (20) opposite which is arranged the photosensitive surface (6) of said sensor. On the other side, at the second surface (22) of the support is fitted the frame of the objective so that the lenses are substantially aligned with the opening of the support and the photosensitive surface. The sensor consists of a semiconductor substrate defining the photosensitive surface and having at the periphery thereof pads or pins for electrical contact with the support.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a small-size imaging apparatus (3) comprising a sensor (4) and an objective of focusing lenses (8, 9, 10) arranged in a frame (12). The sensor is fitted to a first surface (16) of the substrate (18) which has an opening (20) opposite which is arranged the photosensitive surface (6) of said sensor. Means are provided for positioning the objective when it is being mounted, in particular consisting of an optical element (10).

Abstract:
A lens array unit (U1) comprising first and second lens arrays (1, 2), the first and second lens arrays (1, 2) having a plurality of convex lenses (11, 21) capable of forming erect, full-size images. The lens arrays are formed by integrally molding a plurality of lenses (11, 21) and supports (10, 20) for supporting these lenses by a transparent resin, whereby the lens arrays can be produced easily.
Abstract:
An image reader (A) includes a plurality of light sources (6) arranged in line, the light from which travels through a channel (14) and irradiates a linear read area (S). The channel (14) is divided into a plurality of sections (14a) by a plurality of partitions (15). Thus, uniform brightness is obtained in the whole part of the linear read area (S), including both ends and the central part.
Abstract:
An integrated image read/write head (X) includes a substrate (4), on one surface (40) of which are provided a read circuit with a plurality of photodetector elements (20), a plurality of printing elements (60), and a write circuit for driving the printing elements (60). The read circuit, the printing elements, and the write circuit are connected electrically to a connector (8) mounted on the substrate (4).
Abstract:
An apparatus for scanning a document, including scanning a photograph, the apparatus including a contact image sensor (CIS), the apparatus designed to reduce the friction between the contact image sensor and the document being scanned. The reduction is achieved by reducing the friction by use of a non-stick material or by reducing the static electricity forces or both. The preferred embodiment is a CIS whose housing is made of a non-stick material which also is static electricity dissipative.
