Abstract:
This disclosure provides for apparatuses, systems and methods for in vitro sample detection. For example in one embodiment, this disclosure provides an automated Pe-toner microfluidic device (and related method) on a centrifugal platform for DNA sample lysis and DNA extraction. A second embodiment provides a system and method for qualitative detection, quantification, and real-time monitoring of nucleic acid amplification products using magnetic bead aggregation inhibition. A third embodiment provides a platform for simultaneous detection of mRNA markers from blood, cell-free semen, sperm, saliva, and vaginal fluid. The third embodiment comprises a system and method that provide for simple, rapid, and fluorescence-free detection of body fluids using mRNA marker amplification and optical detection for mRNA marker analysis with a smart phone with image analysis.
Abstract:
According to an example, an apparatus for controlling a media scan operation may include a first scan module to scan a section of a media, a tracking mechanism to track the media as the media is moved past the first scan module, and a controller. The controller may receive signals corresponding to the media movement from the tracking mechanism, determine, based upon the received signals, a current position of the media, and vary a timing at which the first scan module collects a scan of the section of the media based upon the determined current position of the media.
Abstract:
An illuminating light assembly in a healthcare scanner illuminates a target to be electro-optically read with visible illumination light of a first color, e.g., white, during a day mode, and illuminates the target with visible illumination light of a second, more psychologically soothing, color, e.g., red or amber, during a night mode. A solid-state imager captures an image of the illuminated target in either mode, and a controller processes the captured image in either mode.
Abstract:
Example implementations relate to streak compensation. Some examples may calibrate an initial gain for data from an optical element based on a scan of a first calibration target, obtain an image of a second calibration target from the optical element using the calibrated initial gain, and detect at least one streak in the image of the second calibration target. Some examples may also record data representing the at least one detected streak and may calibrate a final gain for the optical element based on the initial gain and the data representing the at least one detected streak.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an information processing system including one or more computers. The information processing system includes a first acquisition part configured to acquire data that are stored from a terminal apparatus into a predetermined storage via a network from the predetermined storage via the network, a second acquisition part configured to acquire parameter information based on the acquired data, a selector configured to select a data process to be executed, and a process information generator configured to generate process information serving as information for executing the data process based on the acquired data, the acquired parameter information, and the selected data process.
Abstract:
A position adjustment apparatus couples an imaging unit, which includes an imaging sensor and a focusing lens unit, to a base frame and is capable of adjusting a position of the imaging unit. The image sensor reads a document image and the focusing lens unit forms the document image by using the image sensor. The position adjustment apparatus may include an adjustment frame on which the focusing lens unit and the image sensor are installed, a height fixing member for coupling the adjustment frame to the base frame so as to fix a height of the adjustment frame at a fixed support position, and first and second adjustment members for coupling the adjustment frame to the base frame so as to adjust the height of the adjustment frame at first and second adjustable support positions. An image reading apparatus may include the imaging unit and the position adjustment apparatus.
