Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to identify media based on watermarks across different audio streams and/or different watermarking techniques are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a watermark detector to detect a first watermark embedded in a first audio stream associated with media and to detect a second watermark embedded in a second audio stream associated with the media. The second audio stream is different than the first audio stream. The example apparatus includes a watermark analyzer to compare first media identifying information in the first watermark with second media identifying information in the second watermark. The example apparatus also includes a media detection event controller to associate the first and second watermarks with a media detection event when the first media identifying information is consistent with the second media identifying information. The example apparatus further includes a transmitter to transmit the media detection event to a data collection facility.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are disclosed to determine informed holdouts for an advertisement campaign. An example storage medium includes instructions that, when executed, cause a machine to retrieve user identifiers associated with purchase instances; determine households that correspond to the user identifiers; identify a first and a second group type, the first group type exhibiting a first threshold of purchase behaviors, and the second group type exhibiting a second threshold of purchase behaviors; identify a first holdout group and a second holdout group, reduce computational lift calculation resource consumption by constraining the first holdout group to a first percentage, constraining the second holdout group to a second percentage, the first percentage equal to the second, the first and the second holdout groups are not to be exposed to an advertisement campaign; and determine a lift calculation for the advertisement campaign based on the first and the second holdout groups.
Abstract:
Processor systems to estimate audience sizes and impression counts for different frequency intervals are disclosed. An example processor system includes a memory management unit (MMU) to assign requests from computing devices indicative of accesses to media to a first block of memory, a total count of the requests corresponding to a total number of census impressions. The MMU to assign user-identified impression data corresponding to user-identified impressions to a second block of memory, the user-identified impressions associated with user-identified individuals for whom first demographic information is stored by a database proprietor. The processor system including an arithmetic logic unit (ALU) to determine multipliers relating a first probability distribution for the user-identified impressions to a second probability distribution for the census impressions, and to determine a plurality of census impression counts associated with the census impressions based on the multipliers, different ones of the census impression counts corresponding to different ones of impression frequency intervals.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for signal identification using a low power watermark. Example apparatus for media identification based on watermarks includes a first processor to determine, in response to receiving a signal, if a first watermark is present in the signal using a first processing technique. The example first processor is further to provoke, in response to the first watermark being present in the signal, a second processing technique on a signal processor. The signal processor is to extract a second watermark in the signal using the second processing technique.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for identification of streaming activity and source for cached media on streaming devices, further including a content identification information library to store first content identification information of a first media presentation, wherein the first media presentation is a streamed media presentation, a network activity meter to inspect a network connection of a media streaming device for network activity associated with a second media presentation, a network activity manager to determine, in response to an absence of the network activity, the second media presentation is a cached media presentation, a cached content source determiner to infer a streaming source of the second media presentation by matching second content identification information of the second media presentation with the first content identification information of the first media presentation, and a media credit manager to generate a second media credit for the second media presentation that includes an inferred streaming source identifier.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to determine sources of media presentations are disclosed. An example method includes identifying an input source of a media device from network communications associated with a media stream and, when an audio output associated with the media device includes a valid audience measurement watermark, associating the input source with media presented by the media device.
Abstract:
A method for generating a signature is disclosed. As part of the method, a first number of bits are identified in respective rows of an audio signature matrix that are determined to be the strongest bits in the row, bits of the audio signature matrix are replaced with respective cells having values depending on whether the respective bits are included in the first number of bits, a set of uniformly distributed numbers are generated within a range of numbered locations corresponding to cells of the audio signature matrix; numerical distances are determined, from respective numbers in the set of uniformly distributed numbers, to the numbered locations of the matrix, associated with nearest occurrences of a first value. A set of integers is generated based on the distances.
Abstract:
Example invertible metering apparatus and related methods are disclosed. An example meter apparatus disclosed herein includes a housing having a display area. The meter apparatus includes a first stencil having first indicia in a first language and a second stencil having second indicia in a second language different than the first language. Each of the first stencil and the second stencil is to be positionable separately and removably in the display area of the housing. A cover is to removably couple to the housing to enable access to one of the first stencil or the second stencil when the one of the first stencil or the second stencil is positioned in the display area.
Abstract:
Example methods to perform audience measurement disclosed herein include performing a hashing operation on a first media identifier and a plurality of data values to determine a plurality of hashed media identifiers to identify first media, a first one of the hashed media identifiers being different from a second one of the hashed media identifiers. Disclosed example methods also include sending the first one of the hashed media identifiers to a media provider to identify the first media during a first monitoring interval. Disclosed example methods further include determining audience measurement data associated with the first media and the first monitoring interval based on reporting data received from a service provider different from the media provider, the reporting data including the first one of the hashed media identifiers and demographic data corresponding to a subscriber associated with a media device that received the first media from the media provider.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to predict end of streaming media using a prediction model are disclosed herein. Examples disclosed herein determine a bandwidth rate associated with streaming media presented in a streaming media application from a proxy. Examples disclosed herein also generate a prediction model based on characteristics of the bandwidth rate and determine an end time for the streaming media from the prediction model.
