Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture (e.g., physical storage media) to extend a time range supported by a watermark are disclosed. Example watermark encoding apparatus disclosed herein include a timestamp cycle evaluator to determine which one of a plurality of timestamp cycles is to be represented by a timestamp of a watermark, the timestamp including a set of timestamp symbols. Disclosed example watermark encoding apparatus also include a symbol modifier to modify a subset of data symbols of the watermark based on a further timestamp symbol not included in the set of timestamp symbols of the timestamp, the further timestamp symbol identifying the one of the timestamp cycles to be represented by the timestamp of the watermark. Disclosed example watermark encoding apparatus further include a watermark embedder to embed the watermark in a first piece of media.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to count people in an audience are disclosed. An example method includes analyzing location information collected by a portable device indicative of a location of the portable device. The method also includes analyzing proximity information collected by the portable device indicative of when a person is near the portable device. The example method further includes generating presence information based on (1) the location information and (2) the proximity information, the presence information being indicative of whether the person is present in a media exposure environment associated with a media presentation device.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture (e.g., physical storage media) to embed information in generated acoustic signals are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein to embed information in an acoustic signal output from an electric vehicle include obtaining a first audio signal to be used to generate the acoustic signal. Such example also include combining a second signal with the first audio signal, the second signal to convey first digital information that, when detected, indicates a presence of the electric vehicle. Such example methods further include providing the first audio signal with the second signal to an audio circuit that is to output the acoustic signal from the electric vehicle.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to present supplemental media on a second screen are disclosed. An example method includes obtaining, at a digital media device, media identifying data from audio data of a portion of first media being presented via the digital media device; determining that the portion of the first media is an advertisement based on the media identifying data; detecting, at the digital media device, a command to cause the digital media device to skip the portion of the first media; and providing an indication to a second device in response to detecting the command, the indication to cause the second device to present second media.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture to improve watermark detection in acoustic environments are disclosed. An example apparatus includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to execute and/or instantiate the instructions to encode a first symbol in a media file at a first symbol position on a first encoding layer of a multilayered watermark, and encode a second symbol in the media file at a second symbol position on a second encoding layer of the multilayered watermark, the first encoding layer and the second encoding layer including a plurality of symbol positions, one or more of the plurality of the symbol positions on at least one of the first encoding layer or the second encoding layer to be empty.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to identify streaming sessions are disclosed. A disclosed apparatus for identifying streaming sessions includes an encoder to generate an identifier corresponding to a media file of an advertisement, a detector to determine a presence of the identifier in the advertisement presented at a media presentation device, a timing analyzer to determine a time at which the advertisement was presented, and an associator. The associator is to compare the identifier and the time to a streaming session log from a streaming service provider, identify a streaming session in which the advertisement associated with the identifier was presented at the time based on the comparison, and associate a panelist identifier corresponding to the media presentation device with a streaming session identifier corresponding to the streaming session.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed for affiliate interrupt detection. An example method disclosed herein includes determining whether a first time period of a first audio signal corresponds to a first affiliate interrupt period based on whether (1) a first type of watermark is detected in the first time period of the first audio signal, and (2) a second type of watermark is detected in the first audio signal outside the first time period but not in the first time period of the first audio signal, and determining whether the first time period of the first audio signal corresponds to the first affiliate interrupt period when watermarks are not detected in the first time period of the first audio signal based on comparison of first signatures with second signatures representing a corresponding first time period of a reference audio signal.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture (e.g., physical storage media) to extend a time range supported by a watermark are disclosed. Example watermark encoding apparatus disclosed herein include a timestamp cycle evaluator to determine which one of a plurality of timestamp cycles is to be represented by a timestamp of a watermark. Disclosed example watermark encoding apparatus also include a symbol swapper to swap at least two symbols of the watermark when the timestamp is to represent a second one of the timestamp cycles but not to swap the at least two symbols of the watermark when the timestamp is to represent a first one of the timestamp cycles. Disclosed example watermark encoding apparatus further include a watermark embedder to embed the watermark in a first piece of media.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to perform audio watermark detection and extraction are disclosed. An example method includes sampling a media signal to generate samples, wherein the media signal includes an embedded message, determining a first symbol value for a first block of the samples, determining a second symbol value for a second block of the samples, and determining, using a processor, a resulting symbol value, representative of a part of the embedded message, based on the first symbol value and the second symbol value for the first block of samples and the second block of samples, wherein the first block and the second block partially overlap.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for panelist-based logins using voice commands are disclosed herein. A disclosed example apparatus for identifying a user as a member of an audience includes a memory and at least one processor to execute machine readable instructions to at least access audio emitted by a speech recognition system, the audio generated based on a request spoken by the user, identify at least one of a watermark or a fingerprint included in the audio, the watermark or fingerprint including identifying information to identify a user and an indication of the presence of the user, and record the indication of the presence of the user in an audience.
