Abstract:
1,2-octanediol is used to clean soiled fabrics. Thus, cleaning compositions comprising 1,2-octanediol, preferably in combination with solvents, are impregnated into carrier sheets. The sheets are tumbled with soiled fabrics inside of a plastic bag. The resulting home dry cleaning process leaves the fabrics clean and refreshed.
Abstract:
Treatment compositions that include relatively low levels of an oligoamine, preferably diethylenetriamine (DETA), 4- methyl diethylenetriamine (4-MeDETA), N,N'-Bis(3-aminopropyl) ethylenediamine, and mixtures thereof. Related methods of use preferably treatment of soiled fabric, and preparation.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of washing textile articles that can be carried out, for example, in a continuous batch tunnel washer. Embodiments of the present method can include treating the textile with an aqueous composition including cleaning agent and halogen-containing bleaching agent for a time sufficient to remove soil from the textile and contacting the halogen-treated textile with an aqueous composition including a peroxycarboxylic acid. The concentration of halogen after the sufficient time can be at a level that does not result in adverse interaction between the halogen-containing bleaching agent and the peroxycarboxylic acid. Embodiments of the present method can clean textiles with the results of more effective stain removal and less waste through destruction of the textile article. Further, the present invention can clean a textile contacted soiled by a composition including chlorhexidine gluconate without resulting staining of the textile, which staining could have been permanent.
Abstract:
An aqueous compressed gas aerosol formulation in combination with a lined steel can, which may also optionally be tin plated, to provide corrosion stability, fragrance stability and color stability. An aerosol formulation of particular advantage for use is an air and/or fabric treatment formulation. The combination provides a compatibility which allows for the ability to use a broader fragrance pallet for the air and/or fabric treatment formulation which is aqueous based in major proportion. The formulation includes, in addition to an aqueous carrier, a fragrance, nonionic surfactant ( s ) or a blend of nonionic surfactant ( s ) and cationic surfactant ( s ), a compressed gas propellant (s ), pH adjuster(s), and corrosion inhibitor ( s ). The formulation has a pH of about 8 to less than 10. The corrosion inhibitor (s) is (are) mild in strength and used in a minor amount.
Abstract:
Water structurants are used in combination with a lipophilic fluid and water to deliver fabric care benefits to a fabric article in a non-aqueous fabric treatment system. Water structurants are effective in minimizing fabric damages (e.g., shrinkage, pilling, loss of shapes) from the fabric treatment process. Compositions comprising the water structurants for use in a non-aqueous fabric treating process are also disclosed. The compositions are capable of delivering the fabric care benefits to the fabric article and minimizing fabric damages.
Abstract:
Compositions for dry-cleaning garments containing dipropylene glycol tertiary-butyl ether (DPTB), water, and at least one other solvent selected from cyclic siloxanes and glycol ethers other than DPTB suitable for use as dry-cleaning solvents, wherein the water is present at a level of about 10% by weight or less.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions comprising photosenitizer that can be used to provide lipophilic fluids with bleaching capabilities, lipophilic fluid cleaning compositions having bleaching capabilities and processes of making and using same. Such compositions provide the cleaning benefits of typical lipophilic solvents and additional cleaning benefits that include bleaching.
Abstract:
Compositions for treating fabric articles, especially articles of clothing, linens and drapery, wherein the compositions provide improved cleaning of soils from and/or care of and/or treatment of fabric articles, especially while providing an antimicrobial agent.
