An antenna includes a diplexer having a high pass filter coupled to first and second radiating elements and a low pass filter coupled to third and fourth radiating elements, the first and second radiating elements oriented in a different direction relative to the third and fourth radiating elements. Signals are transmitted to or receive from the first and. second radiating elements with a greater intensity relative to the intensity with which the signals are transmitted to or received from the third and fourth radiating elements when the signal frequencies are above a low pass roll-off frequency of the low pass filter. Signals are transmitted to or received from the third and fourth radiating elements with a greater intensity relative to the intensity with which the signals are transmitted to or received from the first and second radiating elements when the signal frequencies are below a high pass roll- off frequency of the high pass filter.

Multi-band dipole antennas for wireless application devices are disclosed. An example antenna includes at least one dipole including a resonant element and a ground element. A feed point is coupled to the resonant element, and a ground point is coupled to the ground element. The example antenna also includes a parasitic element adjacent at least a portion of the resonant element. The parasitic element is coupled to the ground element and configured to change a resonant frequency of at least a portion of the resonant element.

Abstract:
A tunable antenna of small-sized radio devices and a tuning method. The radiator (610) of an antenna of a radio device is of conductive coating of a dielectric substrate(605). Fuses (F61, F62, F63) connect to the radiating conductor so that the physical shape of the radiator and its electrical size at the same time depend on which fuses are conductive and which are not. The radiating conductor functions as a common current path to the fuses, and the fuse to be blown is selected on grounds of the magnitude or duration of a direct current. The fuses are surface mounted components. Also so called anti-fuses, which can be permanently changed from non-conductive to conductive, may be used. The tuning of an antenna mounted in the end product hardly changes the appearance of the antenna, and no vapours hazardous to health are formed in the tuning.
