Abstract: A dressing, system, and method for use with negative-pressure treatment is described. The dressing includes a tube formed from a non-porous material. The tube can have a first end, a second end, a lumen extending from the first end to the second end, and a wall surrounding the lumen. At least one blister is formed in the wall of the tube, the at least one blister proximate to the second end of the tube. At least one aperture is formed in the wall of the second end of the tube. The at least one aperture is configured to provide fluid communication across the wall from the lumen to an exterior of the tube.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure and/or instillation to a tissue site are disclosed. Illustrative embodiments may include an apparatus or system comprising a dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure. For example, the dressing may comprise or consist essentially of a fluid-management layer, a vapor-transfer surface, and a thermochromic material on the vapor-transfer surface or in the vapor-transfer surface and configured to change color in response to fluid movement through the dressing. Methods of manufacturing and using the dressing are also disclosed.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for trauma-free removal of light deactivated adhesive drapes. In one aspect a system comprises a drape, at least one first photosensitive adhesive portion having a first release agent configured to deactivate upon exposure to certain ultraviolet light, and at least one second photosensitive adhesive portion having a second release agent configured to deactivate upon exposure to certain visible light, where the system is adapted to be released from a tissue site upon or after exposure to an external stimulus. The system may have a removable blocking layer to prevent the second photosensitive adhesive portions from being exposed to the visible light deactivation wavelengths prematurely. In another aspect, a method for removal of a drape by applying visible light to the drape to deactivate the second photosensitive adhesive portions and promote trauma-free removal of the drape in the absence of an ultraviolet light source.

Abstract: A negative pressure wound therapy system includes at least one sensor (126) coupled to a wound dressing (104) for a wound of a patient, and a processing circuit (146). The at least one sensor (126) is configured to output a measurement of the pressure in the wound dressing (104). The processing circuit (146) is configured to open a sealable aperture (118), receive the pressure measurements in the wound dressing (104), calculate a rate of pressure decay, correlate the rate of pressure decay in the wound dressing (104) to a wound dressing fluid absorbent capacity and other therapy parameters, and output the wound dressing fluid absorbent capacity and other therapy parameters to a remote electronic device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for disrupting material at a tissue site is described. The apparatus includes a modulating layer formed from an open-cell reticulated foam and positionable adjacent the tissue site. The apparatus also includes a macro-column layer formed from a felted foam and having a plurality of through-holes separated from each other by walls. The macro-column layer is positionable adjacent to the modulating layer. The through-holes form nodules in the tissue site in response to negative pressure.

Abstract: An apparatus for promoting circulation through a subcutaneous lymph vascular network may comprise a first manifold layer, a second manifold layer coupled to the first manifold layer, and a cover layer coupled to the second manifold layer. The first manifold may have a first stiffness, and the second manifold may have a second stiffness greater than the first stiffness. In some embodiments, the apparatus may additionally have a fluid interface configured to fluidly couple at least one of the first manifold layer and the second manifold layer to a fluid conductor through the cover layer. The fluid conductor may be coupled to or configured to be coupled to a source of negative pressure.

Abstract: A wound therapy system includes a canister configured to contain fluid removed from a wound site, a primary conduit having a first end coupled to the canister and a second end coupled to the wound site, and a pump fluidly coupled to the wound site via the primary conduit. The pump is configured to apply negative pressure to the wound site via the primary conduit. The system includes a pressure indicator configured to indicate a negative pressure at the pressure indicator and a secondary conduit having a first end coupled to the pressure indicator and a second end coupled to the wound site such that the negative pressure at the wound site is fluidly transmitted to the pressure indicator via the secondary conduit. A blockage in the primary conduit causes the negative pressure indicated by the pressure indicator to differ from the negative pressure applied by the pump.
