Abstract: A key cam assembly including a rotatable member, a stem, a locking member coupled to the stem for joint longitudinal movement therewith, and a cam driver. The rotatable member includes an aperture. A proximal end portion of the stem is rotatably seated in the rotatable member and defines a cam track. The locking member extends between the aperture and the cam track. The cam track includes a first passage including a locking pocket, a second passage including an unlocking pocket, a first ramped passage including a locking ramp extending from the second passage to the locking pocket, and a second ramped passage including an unlocking ramp extending from the first passage to the unlocking pocket. Relative rotation of the rotatable member and the stem causes the cam driver to travel along the track to thereby cause movement of the locking member between a locking position and an unlocking position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a lock assembly comprising: a key barrel configured to move a cam associated therewith in response to turning of a key in the key barrel; a bolt operatively associated with the cam and configured for movement between a retracted position, a first extended position, and a second, more extended position in response to movement of the cam; a motion transfer member for transferring movement of the cam to the bolt; and a catch mechanism for engaging and holding the motion transfer member to prevent further extension of the bolt when the bolt is in the first extended position; wherein the cam is configured to release the catch mechanism for moving the bolt to the second, more extended position in response to turning of the key in the key barrel. The invention also relates to a method of operating such a lock assembly, comprising steps of: engaging and holding the motion transfer member against further extension of the bolt via the catch mechanism when the bolt is in the first extended position; and releasing the catch mechanism to move the bolt to the second extended position by moving the cam in response to turning of the key in the key barrel.

Abstract: Изобретение относится к замкам, в которых скользящая защелка двери (створки) используется также в качестве запирающего засова. Изобретение позволяет управлять обычными защелками, превращая их в надежные, полноценные замки наиболее подходящие к межкомнатным дверям, легко блокирующиеся и отпирающиеся одним прикосновением пальца, а также имеющие возможность экстренного открывания двери снаружи. Изобретение является системой взаимодействующих механизмов и универсально для любых дверных защелок, управляемых стержнем квадратного сечения, отличающегося тем, что внутри него размещен механизм мягкой блокировки запирающегося язычка, который приводится в действие простым нажатием кнопки на внутренней дверной ручке. В положении «заперто» система исключает прямые жесткие нагрузки на механизм при поворотах обоих дверных ручек, оставляя им возможность перемещаться в рамках действия собственных возвратных пружин. В результате изобретения данной системы достигается универсальность в сочетании с дверными защелками пружинного или магнитного действия, простота монтажа и демонтажа при смене ручек, максимальная легкость в эксплуатации, долговечность и низкая стоимость при изготовлении из полимеров, методом литья под давлением или принтерной печати.

Abstract: A magnetic latch for a gate has first and second units for mounting on a gate and a gate post respectively. The first unit has a displaceable latch element displaceably mounted in a support in a housing and biased to a retracted position. The second unit has a complementary engagement structure with which a latching portion of the latch element is adapted to engage when the magnetic latch is in a latching position and the latch element is displaced to a projecting position. A magnetic attracting arrangement is provided to cause the latch element to move to the projecting position and engage in the engagement structure when the magnetic latch is in the latching position, and then the engagement structure prevents movement of the door or gate away from the closed position. A retraction element is provided in the first unit for displacing the support and increasing the bias on the latch element to exceed the force of the magnetic attracting arrangement, whereby the latch element moves towards the retracted position and the gate may be moved from the closed position.
