Abstract:
Abstract:
A door latch (10) comprises a follower (24) mounted for rotational movement in a latch housing (14), a guide pin (46) provided on an actuating arm (28) of the follower which is operatively linked to a multiplier (42), a bolt (12) biased outwards of the housing (14), and an inelastic flexible element (50) connected between the multiplier (42) and bolt (12). In operation, rotational movement of the follower (24) is amplified by the guide pin (46) acting on the multiplier (42). The increased rotational movement of the multiplier (42) is converted to rectilinear movement of the bolt (42) into the housing (14) by the inelastic flexible element (5 0), which wraps around an outside edge (47) of the multiplier (42).
Abstract:
An electronic lock employs an electronic latch for operating the lock bolt. The lock utilizes a flexible member (3) linked between a portion of the lock bolt (5) and a solenoid device (1). Upon retraction of a solenoid driver, the flexible member pulls the deadlocking lever for latch retraction. When the flexible member is released by the driver, the bolt can extend for a subsequent opening.
Abstract:
The apparatus (10) is a fall arrestor and lockdown device for vertical lift doors (100), particularly single membrane fabric vertical lift doors. A pulley (80) on a sensing arm (70) engages the cable (112) which raises and lowers the door. Alternatively, the sensing arm is directly attached to a belt. The sensing arm is mechanically linked to a spring loaded pin (54) reciprocating within a tubular housing (52). When the cable or belt is tensioned, the sensing arm rotates upwardly to a position where the pin is retracted and the spring compressed thereby allowing the door to move vertically. However, when the cable or belt is not tensioned, the spring urges the pin to an extended position to engage regularly spaced apertures within the guide channel. When the cable or belt is not tensioned due to a cable or belt failure, the device operates as a fall arrestor. When the cable or belt is not tensioned because the door is fully lowered to the ground, the device acts as a lockdown device.

Abstract:
A door security arrangement with the frame member (10) which is mountable in a wall alongside the opening edge of a door and has an elongate member (30) slideably mounted therein, the member (30) being substantially the same length of the door edge and being movable from a retracted position in which it lies within the frame member and permits the door to swing past it to an extended position in which it lies alongside and substantially against the inner face of the door (14) and the arrangement including releasable means (44, 60, 80), located within the frame member which hold the elongate member (30) in its retracted and extended positions and are operable by the normal door locking mechanism.
