The present invention concerns water-soluble or water-dispersible polyurethanes prepared from a water-dispersible polyurethane prepolymer that contains terminal isocyanate groups and a primary or secondary amine that contains at least one ionogen or ionic group. The invention also concerns the salts of said polyurethanes. The polyurethanes claimed in the invention find use in Cosmetics and Pharmacy and particularly as hair fixer with improved rinseability.

The present invention describes hair treatment compositions that contain a hair fixing polymer and a salt of formula (I): [A-(X)n] . [HmB] where A, X, B, n and m have the meanings given in the description. According to the invention, the hair treatment compositions provide improved rinseability, sleekness and gloss and can be formulated with a reduced VOC content.

Cationic polyurethanes and polycarbamides are composed of (a) at least one diisocyanate, which may already have been reacted with one or several compounds having one or several active hydrogen atoms per molecule, and (b) at least one diol containing one or several tertiary, quaternary or protonated tertiary amine nitrogen atoms, primary or secondary aminoalcohol, primary or secondary diamine or primary or secondary triamine. These compounds have a glass transition temperature of at least 25 DEG C and an amine value from 50 to 200, with respect to the non-quaternised or non-protonated compounds. These cationic polyurethanes and polycarbamides, or other salts of these polyurethanes and polycarbamides, are useful as auxiliary substances in cosmetic and pharmaceutical compositions.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Fällungspolymerisate, die 80 bis 99,9 Gew.-% wenigstens eines nichtionischen wasserlöslichen Monomers a) und 0,1 bis 20 Gew.-% eines Amid- oder Harnstoffgruppen tragenden Monomers b) einpolymerisiert enthalten. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin die Verwendung dieser Polymere als Rheologiemodifizierungsmittel für insbesondere wässrige Zusammensetzungen und als rheologiemodifizierende Festiger in der Haarkosmetik. Die Erfindung betrifft weiterhin wässrige Zusammensetzungen enthaltend diese Polymere.
