Abstract: There is provided a personal care apparatus that is configured to connect to a display apparatus. Abstract: A hairbrush (10) for use by a hairstylist to brush and style a person's hair. The hairbrush (10) has a brush head (12), with a cylindrically-shaped elongated head body (20), and an elongated handle (14) that is attached to the head body (20) so as to extend rearwardly therefrom. The head body (20) has a plurality of bristles (22) extending outward along its length and circumference. The handle (14) has a first handle assembly (40) and a spaced apart, parallel second handle assembly (42). Each handle assembly (40/42) has an elongated rod member (44) and an elongated sleeve (46) disposed about its associated rod member (44). A first connector (48) attaches the rod members (44) to a base (30) of the head body (20). A second connector (50) joins the two handle assemblies (40/42) together to stiffen the handle (14). In use, the hairstylist uses the palm area of the hand to rotate the two handle assemblies (40/42), which rotates the brush head (12), to reduce strain on the hairstylist's thumb, fingers and wrist.

The control unit may be arranged for only counting a subsequent stroke if after counting a stroke, the proximity detector indicates that the hair care device has been away from the hair.
