    Abstract: In an aspect, a subscriber identity module (SIM) card can be designated with an access class designation indicating that a first user equipment is barred from camping on or reselecting to a small cell. The small cell can be configured to transmit information to at least one second user equipment in communication with the small cell that the first user equipment incorporating the SIM card with the access class designation is barred from camping on or reselecting to the small cell. The configured small cell can transmit the information to the at least one second user equipment.

    Abstract: A wireless terminal participates in communications over a radio interface with an access node of a radio access network (RAN). The wireless terminal comprises processor circuitry configured to detect an abnormal operation of the wireless terminal and to autonomously declare a Safe-Mode without permission of the radio access network. In an example implementation, the processor circuitry is further configured to generate a safe mode indication configured to indicate to the access node that one or more capabilities supported by the wireless terminal is temporarily not available at the wireless terminal; and wherein the wireless terminal further comprises transmitter circuitry configured to transmit the safe mode indication over the radio interface to the access node.

    Abstract: This disclosure is directed to enhanced security of electronic devices that use IMEI numbers. In addition to a first IMEI number that is created and tracked by an OEM, a manufacturer of chipsets for cell phones creates a similar, but unique second IMEI number that is burned into logic at chip level of chipsets. The second IMEI number includes a serial number of the chipset to uniquely identify the chipset that is associated with the second IMEI. A combination of a first IMEI and a second IMEI is stored with a registrar. When a device attempts to access a network, a combination of the first IMEI and the second IMEI stored on the device are authenticated with the registrar. If the combination is valid, then the device is allowed to access the network. Otherwise, the device is deemed to be an unauthorized device and access to the network is denied.
