Abstract:
At least the working rolls in two groups of rolls are held by unitary metal chocks. The driving side portion and operating side portion of a material to be rolled are held at the upper side thereof by separately formed unitary metal chocks, and at the lower side thereof as well by similar unitary metal chocks. Two groups of rolls can be arranged close to each other, and the meandering and a bend of a material to be rolled are prevented. A rolling mill and a rolling method and rolling equipment which are easy to maintain and provide a high rolling efficiency can be provided.
Abstract:
A method of, and an apparatus for, smoothly controlling the operation of a moving mechanism, particularly a wheeled one, along a target route. The deviation of the moving mechanism from the target route is calculated, and an operation quantity for controlling the operation of the moving mechanism is decided on the basis of the calculation and a target speed. A steering angle is determined by using this operation quantity and the operation of the moving mechanism is controlled. Because the operation control is executed by using the steering angle in accordance with the deviation from the target route and the target speed, the smooth operation of the moving mechanism can be insured by a simple method.
Abstract:
A data processor incorporating a DRAM, which can be used in the architecture of a personal computer, amusement equipment, etc., for processing graphics at a high speed. When a frame buffer, command memory, and picture processor are incorporated in one chip so as to improve the drawing ability of a picture processor, the depth of memory addresses is increased by constituting the frame buffer and command memory of a plurality of similar memory modules and allocating the same row address to the memory modules. Therefore, the built-in frame buffer and built-in command memory virtually have large capacities, viewed from the picture processor.
Abstract:
A highly reliable, high-density, and large-capacity magnetic disk device comprising a stabilized slider that is capable of maintaining a stable attitude and stable contact with a recording disk without causing irregular motion or local stresses when a force of sliding friction develops between the slider and the recording disk. In order to accomplish this purpose, a head supporting arm (10) is constituted by successively connecting a second deformable section (14), first rigid section (13), first deformable section (12), and fitting section (11) to a guide arm on the upstream side of a second rigid section (15) fitted with the slider (20) in the moving direction of the recording medium. When a prescribed pressure is applied to the slider (20), the intersection of the extension of a virtual line that connects the first and second deformable sections (12 and 14) with the surface of the recording medium lies on the upstream side of the sliding point of the slider (20) on the recording medium in the moving direction of the recording medium. When a frictional force acts on the slider (20), the whole body of the arm (10) is displaced in the direction in which the arm (10) is separated from the disk while the whole body of the arm (10) is elongated in the sliding direction, because the second deformable section (14) is displaced in the same direction. As a result, the pressure applied to the slider (20) is reduced and the incoming side of the sliding section of the slider (20) is displaced in the same direction and the slider (20) does not fall forward.
Abstract:
In an information system in which a plurality of computers are connected to each other through a composite large-scale network, an information table in which information called "Passport" including bibliographic items, such as the destinations, purposes, and times and dates of visits, departure times and dates, etc., required to move a program which is moved from one computer to another to perform given processing is written, is incorporated in the program, and the handling of the program itself while the program visits a server is determined based on the passport information. The program has electronic money and uses the money as the change for the use of a resource on the server. Depending upon the processing, a child program which is a copy of the program is generated so as to shorten the processing time.
Abstract:
An optical communication system using an optical fiber grating (FBG) for distributed compensation. A receiving station has an FBG (121) for narrow-band, distributed compensation, while a transmitting station uses an FBG (120) for distributed compensation and simultaneously for the stabilization of the waveform of a transmitting light source (101). The distributed compensation by the FBG (120) in the transmitting station suppresses the deterioration caused by a self-phase modulating effect, and decreases the required band width for the FBG (121).
Abstract:
A semiconductor stack comprising pressure contact type semiconductor devices having different electrode diameters, which are interleaved either by cooling fins having water channels or by metal plates connected with electrodes. The cooling fin has a relatively thin wall (the distance from its surface to the water channel in it) on one side for contact with a semiconductor device having larger electrodes and a relatively thick wall on the other side for contact with a semiconductor device having smaller electrodes.
Abstract:
A turbomachinery driving apparatus using a dual inverter system and a method of controlling the same, wherein a main control unit for controlling the two inverters is omitted, and an external communication unit for transmitting signals representative of the mutual operational conditions of the inverters is made unnecessary, the exchanging of these signals being done simply, whereby the size, weight, manufacturing cost and the number of parts of the apparatus are reduced. First and second earth leakage breakers (ELB1, ELB2), inverters (INV1, INV2), pumps (4-1, 4-2) and motors (5-1, 5-2) constitute a full duplex feed water system. The inverters (INV1, INV2) are connected to each other by signal lines (S3) and adapted to exchange signals representative of their respective operational conditions and failure conditions and requirements for the operations of the partner systems. Out of the load condition detecting sensors, respective flow rate signal transmitting signal lines (S4, S5) are connected to the inverters directly, and pressure signal transmitting signal lines (S6, S7) in common.
Abstract:
In a system for managing electronic documents, the attributes of relations between the documents are defined on the basis of the correlation between the contents of the documents, and an electronic file in which the attributes are described is managed together with the documents, guaranteeing the content matching between the documents. When a document is prepared, an attribute management file generating/editing function section (115) generates an attribute management file in which the relation of citation of the contents of the document is described, and the file is stored in a database management system (103). When a document is revised, an attribute management file retrieving function section (116) retrieves the corresponding attribute management file, and a master-servant relation attribute detecting portion (117) and a document revision monitoring/displaying function section (118) analyzes the relations so that the progress of the document content revision, that is defined in advance, is monitored and the matching of the contents between the documents is guaranteed. Accordingly, guarantee of matching of the contents entailed by the revision of a document can be easily provided in a document system containing formatted documents and nonformatted documents, such as documents relating to the design, production, inspection, sale, etc, of industrial products, and standard documents stating them, where matching of the contents is of particular importance. The method is extremely effective to receive the certification of the production standards requiring strict management of documents, such as ISO9000 established recently, and to apply the production standards.
Abstract:
A throttle valve control device for an internal combustion engine characterized in that a throttle valve is rotatably mounted on a throttle body via throttle shaft, that the configuration of a bore in the inner surface of the throttle body is a straight bore type in which the centre of rotation of the throttle valve is located on the centre line of the throttle body, that a spherically surfaced internal profile portion is provided in an idle control area which is in the vicinity of the fully closed angle of the throttle valve, that a spherically surfaced internal profile portion is further provided as an area continuing from the sphrically surfaced internal profile, that provided as an area continuing from the spherically surfaced internal profile is an area comprising a compound surface profile comprising in turn a spherical surface and a cylindrical surface substantially parallel to a flow of air or an area comprising a conical surface profile, and that the centre of the spherically surfaced profiles is on the centre line of the bore and vertically offset, whereby a gap between the spherical surface profile and the throttle valve increases as the opening of the throttle valve increases. When applied to an electronically controlled throttle valve control device, the device is designed such that an engine rotational speed changes 20 rpm for each incremental throttle valve opening of 0.10 in a low throttle valve opening area, thereby eliminating an idle control by an ISC valve.
