Abstract:
The present invention relates to a packaging and applicator device for applying a cosmetic or dermatological composition, the device comprising: • a container (1) containing the composition to be applied; and • an applicator that is configured to be mounted on the container when not in use, the applicator comprising: • a handle portion (2); • an applicator member (3) that is selected from applicator members comprising a block of foam, a membrane, a sintered element, or a felt, defining an application surface (7) for coming into contact with the skin or mucous membranes. A connection piece (5) connects the handle portion to the applicator member and enables the handle portion (2) to be inclined relatively to the applicator member (3).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for applying a composition to human keratinous materials, the device comprising: ° a container (2) that is provided with a wiper member (7) and that contains a cosmetic or care-product composition (P); ° an applicator (3) for applying the composition contained in the container, the applicator comprising: ° an applicator member (5) for applying the composition; ° a handle ( 6); and ° a stem (4) that connects the applicator member to the handle, the stem extending along a longitudinal axis (X) and including a visible portion that presents a cross-section that varies over more than half of its length (I), and that passes through at least one maximum (M) that is situated at a non-zero distance from the ends (4a, 4g) of the visible portion.
Abstract:
An applicator for applying a cosmetic product to the eyelashes or the eyebrows, the applicator comprising: • a molded core that extends along a longitudinal axis and that comprises longitudinal faces; and • applicator éléments that are carried by the core, each of the applicator éléments being connected to the core via a base; the bases of the applicator éléments being in alignment in rows extending along respective longitudinal row axes, the longitudinal axis of at least one row being twisted around the core; each longitudinal face of the core comprising a single row of applicator éléments having bases in alignment; and at least one row being connected to one face of the core and flush with one of the faces adjacent to the face to which the row is connected.
Abstract:
A cosmetic dispenser (10) with a bottle (12, 14) and an applicator wand (16) retained for slidable extension and retraction relative to the bottle (12, 14). The applicator wand (16) can be slid from a retracted position wherein a cosmetic applicator (15) is retained within the bottle (12, 14) and an extended position wherein the cosmetic applicator (15) projects through an aperture at a distal end of the bottle (12, 14). A lateral dividing structure (26, 28), which can be formed by an adapter insert (26) and a rear seal (28), slidably receives the applicator wand (16) and divides the inner volume of the bottle (12, 14) into a distal inner volume and a proximal inner volume. A laterally disposed distal wiping wiper (30) with a plurality of radial slits (54) can wipe a distal end of the cosmetic applicator (15), and a side wiping wiper (32) with an inner throat (70) can wipe a peripheral portion of the cosmetic applicator (15). A cap (34) with a plug (75) can matingly engage the side wiping wiper (32).
Abstract:
A rigid low cost cosmetic container is provided wherein the basic elements, a tubular container and an applicator wand, are integrally formed as a unitary body. The wand extends inwardly from the top of the container into a product reservoir to form of an applicator end. The wand extends upwardly from the top end of the container to form a handle which may be provided in dimensions approximating the cap on a saleable package. The container and wand are separated by a frangible connection in the top end of the container. The frangible connection The bottom margin of the container sidewall is provided with a substantially reduced thickness to permit the container to be pinched and hermetically sealed after the product reservoir is filled with a quantity of product.
Abstract:
The present invention is a sealed wiper for a mascara bottle or other container that uses a wiper. The sealed wiper has novel venting features on its exterior to allow air that has been displaced from the container to escape to the outside. In this way, a sealed wiper may be seated on a container without the build up of pressure inside the container.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to product applicators that are separable from a product reservoir and that heat a portion of product. The invention comprises a product applicator fitted with an electronic heating element capable of connecting to a low voltage power source. Most of the electric circuitry is incorporated into a circuit subassembly, for example a flexible substrate with printed-on circuit. The preferred heating element is a flexible heater. Heat emanates from the surface of the separable applicator so that the product that is closest to the applicator surface is heated prior to and/or during application.
Abstract:
The present invention is a vented wiper for a mascara bottle or other packaging. During filling of a container, the vented wiper allows air to vent from the mascara container other than through the interior of the wiper. The present invention also encompasses modified filling methods for containers that have wipers.
