Abstract:
Abstract:
A noise reducing joist system includes a joist hanger, a joist and a sheath surrounding a bottom portion, a lower end portion and lower end side portions of the joist, the sheath and joist inserted into the joist hanger. The joist and sheath are inserted into the joist hanger. The sheath interfaces with the joist hanger rather than the joist thereby reducing noise that may be created by a sliding that might occur between the joist end the joist hanger.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for preparing a floor comprising the steps of preparing one or more floor structures comprising an upper surface arranged in parallel to a lower surface; and one or more channels disposed vertically between the upper and lower surfaces and longitudinally extending along the upper and lower surfaces, each of the one or more channels having a top and a bottom; preparing a foundation; attaching a sill plate to the foundation; placing one or more floor structures on top of the rimboard and attaching the floor structure to the sill plate and foundation.
Abstract:
A fire retardant elevated floor structure comprising a plurality of parallel and spaced apart joists supported by support means, at least one fire retardant panel supported by the joists and at least one floor panel located above the fire retardant panel.

Abstract:
Flashing (10) comprises an elongate body (12) for overlying a member J, and legs (20) extending for at least part of the body length and protruding from either side of the body. The flashing has a configuration prior to overlying the member whereby one or both legs is/are biased towards a respective member side when positioned thereat. The legs may be detachable from the body along a line of severance (24). In addition, wings (16) can extend out from either side edge of the body (12) to extend for at least part of the body length. One, some or all of the wings can be detachable from the body along a line of severance (22).
Abstract:
A floor assembly comprising a base structure including a plurality of parallel spaced apart joists (2), at least two juxtaposed quadrilateral shaped wood floor panels (1) supported by the base structure and positioned in an edge to edge abutting relationship, wherein at least one pair of opposed edges (7, 9) of each panel, at least one of which is in the abutting relationship, spans at least one adjacent pair of joists (2), a capping means (13) covering the edge to edge join of the abutting panels at the joist facing major surface sides of the abutting panels and extending at least between adjacent the joists (2).
Abstract:
A prefabricated floor structure component comprises a structural body (10) which consists at least substantially of wood and comprises an elongate glued multi-layer plate (11) of wood, comprising at least one layer (14, 16) containing fibres extending at least substantially in the longitudinal direction of the plate (11) and at least one layer (15) containing fibres extending at least substantially in the transversal direction of the plate (11), and a plurality of elongate stiffening members (12) which are located beneath said plate (11) and which are rigidly connected thereto and which extend in the longitudinal direction of the plate (11) and are located spaced apart in the transversal direction of the plate (11) and which define downwardly open longitudinally extending pockets (13) therebetween.
Abstract:
A deck plank cover (15) made from a plastic material, such as a wood composite, wherein the deck plank cover is designed to be affixed to the top surface of a preexisting deck plank (20). The deck plank cover is useful for repairing or protecting wooden deck planks of typical wooden decks (10). The deck plank cover may be affixed directly to the top surface of the existing wooden deck planks, and serves to substantially protect the wooden deck planks from further exposure to the elements. The deck plank cover preferably simulates the look of real wood, and may be produced in various cross-sectional shapes and sizes and from a variety of plastic materials.
Abstract:
The invention concerns bearing structures comprising dried and stabilised massive wood lattice girders, said structure being characterised in that at least some of said girders are placed longitudinally side by side and linked on their side surfaces (16), by bonding and/or other mechanical means, to constitute a rigid bearing structure substantially improving the mechanical characteristics of each girder.
