Abstract:
A barrier (10) for sealing an opening defined by a door frame comprises a body (16) comprising a first body part (18), a second body part (20) and a third body part (22). The second and third body parts are movable relative to the first body part in directions A and B, thereby to permit adjustment of the size of the barrier (10). A sealing tube (24) extends at least partially along a periphery of the body (16) for sealing a gap between the barrier (10) and the door frame defining the opening.
Abstract:
A flood barrier (10) for inhibiting the entry of floodwater to a building is provided. The flood barrier (10) comprises first and second rigid panels (11,12) with an inflatable element located therebetween. Inflation of the inflatable element separates the first and second rigid panels (11,12) forces them toward first and second sealing surfaces provided in a frame (20) located at a door or window to be protected.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A flood defence system for a closure such as a door (7) movable relative to a surrounding structure such as a doorframe (9). The door (7) is supported for pivotal movement relative to the doorframe (9) about a vertical axis at one side of the door by hinges (4 and 6). The hinge (6) is spring loaded and biases the door (7) to first, raised operative position for opening closing movement relative to the door frame (9). The door (7) is movable against the spring loading to a second, lowered operative position in which the bottom edge of the door (7) is engageable with a sealing strip (17) to provide a watertight seal along the bottom edge of the door (7) when closed. The doorframe (9) is provided with sealing strips (14) and side edges of the door (7) are engageable with the sealing strips (14) to provide watertight seals along both sides of the door (7) when closed. In another arrangement (Figure 10) the closure is a panel extending between two posts forming part of an enclosure for protecting an area within the enclosure against flooding.
Abstract:
A toilet seal consisting of a panel (2) fitting onto the top rim of each toilet pan secured and sealed in one embodiment by a one-bolt central locking option and in a further embodiment by four peripheral locking bolts (5). The flood control system also incorporates a domestic flood barrier, consisting of a frame permanently secured around doors, windows or air-vents, into which a panel or panels are inserted. Seals are an integral part of each panel, and no mechanical means are required other than toggle clips on multiple panels to compress horizontal seals.
Abstract:
A sealant (10) for sealing a closure member (12), such as a door, across an opening (14), or reversibly sealing openings such as ventilation passages, the sealant (12) being readily selectively removable when a seal is no longer required. The sealant comprises a non-expanding polyurethane form which may be produced from two components mixed together as the sealant is applied prior to application. The sealant cured from a relatively soft consistency and conforms to produce a seal for instance as a closure member (12) is closed over the opening (14). The sealant is applied to one or both of the closure member (12) or the opening (14), or is applied over an opening or gap to be sealed.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a method for protecting the inside of buildings against the unwanted inflow of water, mud and other fluids, characterised in that a screen-film (1) made from a flexible and resistant sheet of waterproof material with one of its edges sealingly attached to a fixing and sealing bearing plate (2) is sealingly fixed by means of this bearing plate (2), on at least the threshold or the base and the jamb posts or the side members of the frame (14) of the opening or the bay to be protected. The flexible screen-film (1) is then unfurled and its free edges are folded, collected and sealingly fastened, for instance by bonding, heat sealing or by means of a binding wire (L), one rigid reinforcing wall (16) being finally arranged at the rear of the screen-film thus set up.
Abstract:
A device for protecting persons and property in homes, industrial facilities, buildings and the like from natural and accidental disasters by means of sealing barrier walls urged into engagement with sealing surfaces around the openings in the building or the like. Each barrier wall consists of a metal frame (10) embedded in moulded plastic (13) to form a wall and coated with a rubber shell (14) having a rubber bead (8) around the edges thereof. The rubber-coated rigid wall (4) is urged against the sealing surface (2) by cross-members (5) engaging bars (3) in the opening, as well as by screw assemblies (6). Said device is useful for creating a confined space and protecting buildings from disasters such as floods, hurricanes, radioactive leaks, etc. Said barrier wall may be made of new or, in the case of plastic or rubber, recycled materials.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sun-blocking or energy-generating interior or exterior decorative facade cladding comprised of photovoltaic panels to be used for decoration, sun-blocking and/or solar-energy generation purposes or as LED panels or for advertisement purposes or for illumination, allowing also use as a sunshade on facades (in order to reduce air-conditioning costs), and capable of providing an alternative energy source by generating solar energy, or comprised of clay, aluminium or wood material for decorative purposes.
Abstract:
A flood barrier (100) prevents flooding water to enter an opening in a wall. The flood barrier comprises a canvas (102) comprising a plurality of rectangular pockets (104) arranged adjacent each other. A plurality of rigid rectangular sheets(106)are arranged in the pockets. The canvas is thereby configured to be folded into at least a first configuration and a second configuration. The first configuration comprises a vertical wall part and a horizontal base part that interact via connecting means in the first configuration as a barrier to the flooding water and the second configuration is a folded stack.
